Good mid-level paddle. I get a little flutter from time to time on power strokes and I did add edge protection to the blades to prevent wear.
Well, it's a Werner fiberglass paddle, so of course it is a 5 star rating. Only had it about a month but it's been out a lot in technical rivers and has been bashed against rocks, gotten lots of scratches and a few scars, and it still looks way too new. As far as the Powerhouse design, it works well for my purposes for both big rivers and rocky creeks. Since I am a big guy, I like the big blade and the shape works well even when the water's not deep enough to get the whole blade in. If you are a beginner to whitewater (or even to flatwater and like to put muscle into your stroke) and debating on whether to get the basic $240 Werner paddle versus a $100 paddle of any brand, don't waste your money on a $100 paddle. You will be sorry you did. If you are not a beginner, you already know this.
