Mostly I liked this product. It fits perfectly on the Thule Aeroblade rack I bought separately. Assembly instructions were a little mysterious in places, but eventually I figured it out. It can't be locked, but I found it only takes a few minutes to remove and install, so I just take off when I my car is left at a launch point, or when I am not kayaking on a particular day. Each support can be put on in no particular order or place. If you do this i recommend making marks on the roof rack (I used a Sharpie) to show where to position the support piece. Then, literally only 1 - 2 minutes to slap them on. The tightening is very fast and secure (screw-down bolt you can turn with your hand.) The product comes with kit to install on both the Aeroblade and square bar, so I ended up buying for a lot of stuff I haven't used. It also sits up quite high, adding to the lift necessary to get the kayak (in my case) up on the supports. All that said, I am still happy with the DockGrip. Each support can be adjusted a bit to fit the contours of what is being carried, and so far I have had no bad experiences using it.
