The Wilderness Systems Zephyr 155 is designed to be a playful, friendly, balanced kayak that excels in rough sea conditions, rock gardens, surf and wind; yet, is still great for tripping needs. The Zephyr is extremely playful and maneuverable giving paddlers a fun combination of maneuverability and sea worthy tracking. The beam and flare of the moderately soft-chined hull gives the Zephyr outstanding stability on edge. When in rough conditions where tracking can be a problem the TruTrak Skeg System can be deployed to assist with paddling efficiency. The paddler can make seating adjustments on the fly with the Phase3 XP seat, thigh braces and back rest to provide a custom fit all day long. Its loaded with storage with large stern and bow hatches with bulkheads, and a small midship hatch for quick access.

Kayak review: I love this kayak. My friend has an older version of the same kayak, and she let me take hers out on several long paddles before I decided to buy my own. I took mine out on the ocean in pretty rough water with large swells last weekend and it performed very well. It cuts through the water with very little effort, even going directly into the wind. While it feels a bit tippy, it doesn't actually tip, it's actually pretty stable in large swells and waves. ACK review: I had a minor issue with the kayak (blemished decal) and ACK customer service was very responsive and helpful, and resolved my issue to my satisfaction. They are easy to get hold of via phone and email, and quick to respond. Packaging/shipping: The kayak arrived via a large truck, which was too big to fit into my driveway, but the driver helped carry the kayak to my garage, even though he isn't required to. The kayak was very well wrapped. It had a layer of cardboard, 2 layers of bubble wrap, a layer of thick plastic, and an extra plastic wrapper around the skeg opening. The outer 2 layers had a gouge hole through them, but due to the excellent packaging, the kayak was well protected and undamaged. I would recommend this kayak and ACK to anyone in the market for a mid-sized sit-inside that performs well in many types of water. ACK has great customer service and prices, and their shipping fees are very reasonable.
