The Nylon Pad Eye is an excellent way to create attachment points for seats, tie down points for accessory straps, guides for rudder lines, and many other uses. Nylon Pad Eyes are produced with high quality nylon to ensure they can take the abuse and strain that today's kayakers can dish out. Able to be installed practically anywhere on your kayak with the use of either stainless bolts and nuts, or even with rivets, you can truly customize your boat to how you see fit. Mounting hardware for the Nylon Pad Eye is sold separately.
These nylon pad eyes were a direct replacement for the eyes I had broken on my Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120. Be sure to order the black anodized pop rivets with sealant when replaceing these.
They are very useful, but there must be something going on here because I go through them pretty quickly. They last only a few trips before cracking. Probably the exposure to salt water, where I use them regularly.
for some reason my kayak didn't have these, so I was very happy to find them here! These are nicely made of nylon so no rusting or corroding issues. They see sturdy enough to hold up to my uses. I attached them with the well nuts and SS screws that I also purchased at AKC - everything you need to complete your project, and then of course, always a wish list for later!
