Perception Pescador Pro 12.0 Kayak

All in all I'm very happy with the boat, I'd give a 4.5 star review (for the price) if it was an option. This boat has a great hull, lots of rigging and storage space, good weight capacity, good tracking, good price, and it's not too heavy (always a concern of mine). My minor complaints are: - The strap buckles on the seat are low quality and broke on my first overnight trip. Do yourself a favor and replace them with metal ones. - As you may have read elsewhere, the rod holders are useless - but I knew that going into the purchase. Strange that they did such a nice job with the boat and messed these up (they are much too wide and not conveniently placed). - Gear tracks are plastic, aluminum would have been stronger and marginally more expensive, easy fix tough. Pleasant surprises: -Good interior hull access in the rear through the small hull access area in the rear well. -Love the hard plastic cap on the rear underside of the hull (don't have to worry about dragging it as much and eating through the plastic) - Rear well is quite large, fit a RTIC 20 with room to spare - Decent amount of room under the seat when in high position (extra storage, I use it for my anchor rope) Also Austin Kayak's service was 2nd to none. Competitive price, fast delivery, excellent packaging, and even an in-person follow up call after I ordered. Bravo.

Have had my 12' Pescador out several times now in calm water and in wind and chop. The boat performed really well and I give it high marks for stability, tracking and ease of paddling. The fittings layout is very well thought out and I have added nothing other than a couple of tie-down eyes. Perfect fishing kayak for me and outperforms two others I have owned. Austin was very easy to work with and handled the shipping promptly and without any problems.
