Have had my Pescador Pro 120 for a little over a week and have fished out of it twice (one full day and one half day). I love it! Seat is very comfortable, cockpit is roomy and nice, and the kayak tracks well and handles the wind pretty well too. I am upgrading from an OK Scrambler, so the Pescador Pro is a very big upgrade for me and it looks like I made a great choice with this kayak. The rod holders are terrible (as others have pointed out) and the drink holder is borderline worthless, but the rest of the yak is great, especially for its price. My only problem is that I will eventually have to buy a second one for my son...and eventually maybe a third one for my daughter!
We have two12 ft Pescador that we love, BUT the handles on each end & in the middle on each side of the seat rot even when they're stored under cover from rain & sun. They're too expensive to replace each time. Does anyone make a replacement that can last? 5 STARS except for the handle hassle.
Great intermediate level Kayak. It handles well and is easy to turn. Stability is great you can stand but I wouldn't recommend it. Versatile for both recreational and fishing.
All in all I'm very happy with the boat, I'd give a 4.5 star review (for the price) if it was an option. This boat has a great hull, lots of rigging and storage space, good weight capacity, good tracking, good price, and it's not too heavy (always a concern of mine). My minor complaints are: - The strap buckles on the seat are low quality and broke on my first overnight trip. Do yourself a favor and replace them with metal ones. - As you may have read elsewhere, the rod holders are useless - but I knew that going into the purchase. Strange that they did such a nice job with the boat and messed these up (they are much too wide and not conveniently placed). - Gear tracks are plastic, aluminum would have been stronger and marginally more expensive, easy fix tough. Pleasant surprises: -Good interior hull access in the rear through the small hull access area in the rear well. -Love the hard plastic cap on the rear underside of the hull (don't have to worry about dragging it as much and eating through the plastic) - Rear well is quite large, fit a RTIC 20 with room to spare - Decent amount of room under the seat when in high position (extra storage, I use it for my anchor rope) Also Austin Kayak's service was 2nd to none. Competitive price, fast delivery, excellent packaging, and even an in-person follow up call after I ordered. Bravo.
