Kayak arrived in good shape.
This kayak came in on tuesday and spent all day thursday on the water. I shopped this on the ACK website and compared it to other like priced and sized boats and read all the reviews. First the negatives. I wish Perception wouldn't call those holes behind the seat rod holders. I agree with the other reviewers, good place for sun screen, pliers, snacks....anything but a rod. luckily I had a gear track rod holder from another kayak and the problem is solved, sort of. The gear tracks seem a bit far forward for me so I'll add two shorter tracks next to the seat. Problem solved. This boat is wider and heavier than my old sit in kayak and thus is slower and more ponderous in the water. Not bad, just different. Now the good news, I love this thing. The little complaints can be dealt with by a few aftermarket items like a milk crate and rocket launcher type rod holders, a pair of 6" gear tracks and I'm good to go! This is a great platform to customize to my needs and preferences. I'm an old guy so I'm not standing to cast, I can hit my target from a seated position. I can't comment on standing stability.
