The sprinter in the Pungo family, the Wilderness Systems Pungo 140 gives some true sea kayaks a run for their money. This boat does not sacrifice comfort and stability for the gain in speed. It is a real joy top paddle, especially when you have a lot of water to cover and a lot of gear to carry. The multi-chined hull tracks straight with speed. A roomy cockpit and premium outfitting offer all-day comfort, and the stable, manageable design is great for paddlers of many skill levels. The Phase 3 AirPro seating system adds comfort and easy adjustability. The large cockpit opening means easy entry and exit, plus convenient access to any gear you might want handy in the cockpit.

I’m 6’5” and 275 lbs. Thee Phase 3 seat is very comfortable and the long cockpit lets me sit down and then swing my feet in. The Pungo 140 easily accommodates my height/weight plus gear. Perfect!
I purchased a Pungo 140 from ACK after researching which kayaks would be best for a larger person. I'm 6'1" and 270 pounds and this kayak is perfect for me. Plenty of room in the cockpit and easy to get in and out of. The kayak is very stable in the water, initial and secondary stability is very good. I use the boat mainly for rivers and springs in South Florida but also take it out into Tampa Bay and surrounding beaches on good days. My 21 year old son can even stand up in it and paddle it on the local slow moving rivers. It is a great recreational kayak but has plenty of room for gear for overnight trips and light touring. It paddles easily and tracks great due to the design of it's keel. My wife has a Pungo 120 and it is a little easier to turn in very narrow and twisty streams that we sometimes get into, but that is only due to the difference in length as they both handle great. I love this boat and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stable kayak that tracks well and can accommodate larger paddlers.
