Good solid light trailer. I can move this myself by hand or with a trailer dolly. I slightly modified and added some padding. I would recommend adding a flag to this. It's really hard to see when you are backing to a ramp to pull your boat out.

Great little trailer. Lights are from a ‘little tikes’ car Si replace with $29 set of nice waterproof LED lights that fit as per the stock ones. CZC AUTO 12V LED Submersible Trailer Tail Light Kit for Under 80 Inch Boat Trailer RV Marine (Trailer light kit) from Amazon. I also added the Tandem Island Cradles, a spare carrier from Maxxhaul 70214 and a Reese Towpower 74410 Trailer Swivel Mount Jack (both Amazon). Trailer is perfect now!

Top Question & Answer
Q: Need a trailet for a TI and will be transporting it 600 mi one way to the ocean. I feel like I need a fairly heavy duty trailer. One with larger wheels and perhaps better suspension than this one. What are your thoughts regarding a heavier duty trailer with larger wheels for this type of travel? Do you have any trailers with larger wheels. Can this trailer be provided with larger wheels as an option? What are your thoughts on the wheel bearings considering the long trips to be taken with the boat and trailer?
A: This is actually a heavier duty trailer than most and already has bigger, 8 inch wheels and larger tires than the usual 6 inch diameter wheel. Malone trailers have the option to choose upto a 12 inch tire and have a similar construction, however do not have a Tandem Island specific trailer. This particular trailer is extremely heavy duty, is rated for posted highway speeds and has a full manufacturer's warranty if any issues arise.

Q: What is the highway rating for this trailer? Is it safe for a 14 hour trip on highways 70-80 mph?
A: These trailers do meet USA DOT standards on USA roads, but this is a lightweight trailer and manufacturer's will recommend to only go at speeds you are comfortable with driving. There is an average recommended speed of between 55-60 mph for most lightweight trailers like this.

Q: Are the wheel hubs and bearing salt water tolerant?
A: That trailer is made from galvanized steel which does corrode when in a salt water splash zone. The only way to prevent the corrosion is to use an epoxy or paint designed to stand up to salt water. It will act as a barrier in till it is either scratched or breached in some way. A can of Rust-Oleum coating would work as that protective barrier.
