How much are your shipping charges?

Free if you meet our minimum purchase requirement of $49*. Those orders that do not meet the minimum purchase requirement will be charged $4.95. From time to time we may waive the shipping fee.

Additionally, we only ship to the 48 contiguous states based on this policy. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, the shipping rate for non-boat orders is $14.95 per order regardless of the purchase amount. If purchasing a kayak, canoe, SUP or other boat, rates will vary. *All Hobie products and kayaks from Wilderness Systems are excluded from any Free Shipping offer and are not part of the calculation for free shipping. Other brands may be excluded. The shopping cart will indicate so.

How much does it cost to ship a kayak or canoe to my home or business?

Kayaks and canoes require special handling and therefore cost a bit more to ship. We strive to minimize this cost as much as possible allowing us to charge you far less than the actual cost of shipping.

Our Residential Delivery and Commercial Business shipping fee is only $49*, which means your kayak is shipped to your door or business. While other sites may advertise free shipping on Kayaks, please check their total price and ensure that it is inclusive of all fees such as wrapping fees, handling fees, etc.

Our shipping fees only apply to kayaks and canoes shipped to the 48 contiguous states. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, please contact us, prior to placing a kayak order. Some oversized kayaks may have a higher fee associated with them. In each case, the surcharge will be noted on the product details page.

*Hobie Kayaks and Wilderness Systems kayaks vary in shipping price, please see each specific product for it's shipping cost.

What if I need my order faster than regular shipping?

We offer FedEx Overnight and 2-Day service. You will be given the choice to select this option on the checkout page. Pricing varies and will be calculated when either the Overnight or 2-Day service is selected. Neither 2-day nor Overnight include Saturday delivery, these are based on Business Days only, for Saturday delivery please call us to place your order.

Do you ship internationally?

We do ship internationally. We charge actual shipping charges and ship usually via USPS Express International or USPS Priority International. In order for us to quote the shipping cost we ask that you request "International Quoting". To do so please add the items to your cart and then click "checkout", then choose the link for "International Customers Click Here" right above the Shipping Information. From here we will get your complete address so that we can accurately quote the shipping charges.

We do not collect any duty or taxes and you are responsible for any import duties or customs taxes that are due on delivery.

Unfortunately we are not able to ship kayaks internationally, only accessories.

When will my order ship?

Items that are designated as 'Ships within 24-48 hours' are in-stock and if ordered by 5 pm Central Standard Time will ship the same day from one of our distribution centers in Texas. Items that are designated as 'Ships in 1-2 weeks' are currently out of stock, but are expected to arrive shortly. These items will ship to you the day that they are received.

How do you protect my boat from damage?

We take every precaution to ensure that your boat is not damaged in shipping and work with our shipping providers to ensure they properly handle your boat. One of the key components is the wrapping of the boat, here is video showing how we protect and wrap your boat.

Who will deliver my order and how long will it take?

Non-kayak, canoe or SUP orders are shipped via FedEx or UPS Ground unless an expedited delivery service is chosen. Typical ground delivery time is 3-4 business days. Click Here for a FedEx map of their standard delivery times. Our ship notification will include the carrier's anticipated delivery time.

Kayaks are shipped on a common carrier such as YRC or Estes Express. Residential deliveries will typically be delivered on a box truck with a lift gate. Delivery times can vary and not be guaranteed but the majority of our shipments are delivered within 3 to 15 business days.

What do I need to do when my boat order arrives?

When your boat order arrives at your residence, you will need to inspect the boat to make sure it arrived in good condition and that you are satisfied with your order. If there are any issues please make sure to take detailed photos of the boat, any damage and packaging. You have 24 hours following delivery to reach out to the freight company about any shipping damages. After reaching out to the freight company, please reach out to the ACK customer service team with a description of the damage, photos and any reference numbers the freight company provided.

What if I find the same item priced lower at a competitor?

We strive to maintain competitive prices and will match a competitor's advertised price on an identical product. ACK does not price match shipping & handling charges.

Item must be identical (color, size, year, model, etc. ) and in stock at both Austin Kayak and the Competitor Website. No Marketplace or 3rd Party Sellers (Amazon, Ebay, etc.). Price must be verifiable by a member of Austin Kayak Staff at time of purchase.

What products do not qualify for the discount with kayak purchase?

Various items on our site are excluded from any discount with boat purchase. All Electronics (GPS, Fish Finders, etc.) are excluded, as well as Trailers. Additionally, Hobie requires that we not discount their products with the purchase of a kayak. There may be more products included or excluded at any given time. If a discount is not reflected in the shopping cart and you are unsure why, please contact us.

Some items are excluded on coupons, which items are they and why?

Due to our current pricing and manufacturers' rules, we are sometimes prohibited from discounting a product or offering a further discount. Our coupons will automatically apply to the product that is eligible and each product that is not will say so on the product page as the last bullet point.

All coupons and other offers exclude Hobie kayaks, SUPs and accessories, trailers, electronics, gift certificates, any closeout or specially priced products and prior purchases. How do you handle pricing errors?

There are two main pricing errors and in each instance we reserve the right to cancel the order. The first is an item mis-priced due to system issues and/or human unintentional error. The second is the manipulation of our website in order to checkout at a lower price. In the even it is a human error or system error we contact you to discuss and explain. In the event we have identified tampering with our site we will cancel the order with or without notice as well as take means necessary to circumvent and restrict your usage of our site going further.

Will I be charged Sales Tax?

All orders are shipped to you tax free unless you reside in the state of Texas or Michigan. All residents of the State of Texas will be charged State Sales Tax of 8.25%. All residents of Michigan and Kentucky will be charged State Sales Tax of 6%.

How do I return an item?

We always take care of our customers and will take back any product within 45 days of purchase for any reason. We can't say that we won't ask any questions; of course we will be curious as to why you changed your mind, but that's only because we care and we want to make sure you get the best service possible.

Should you decide to return your product and it is in new condition we will refund you the full purchase price. If we had to ship the product and you are returning it because you changed your mind, well, we can't refund you the shipping - it is only fair. It is also your responsibility to pay the return shipping fees that might be associated with returning the product. If you are returning a kayak please contact us as there might be re-stocking fees involved depending on the kayak and the condition.

How can I get an item that you don't carry?

If you cannot find a product on our website but you see that we offer the brand please contact us. We will be happy to order the item for you. Special Order items are shipped to you just like our in-stock merchandise; the same shipping policies apply and there are no additional charges to place an order.

If the item is supplied from a manufacturer that we currently have a relationship with, and the manufacturer has the item in-stock, we will normally receive the item within 7 to 10 business days. Occasionally we can have Special Order items shipped directly to you from the manufacturer. Generally, you can expect to receive your Special Order items within 7 to 14 business days.
