ACK was invited to sponsor the Irish Water Dogs Invitational in Jacksonville, FL back in October, a catch, photo and release, kayak-fishing tournament and we gladly accepted. Aside from supporting the sport of kayak fishing, what drew us to this particular tournament was that all proceeds were going to the Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Occasionally, we think it’s best to let photos speak for themselves. Amy, ACK’s Office Manager, took her family out to Inks Lake State Park in central Texas for a fall weekend camping trip and was nice enough to share some photos of her experiences.
I’ve always noticed that we sell a large number Wilderness System’s Tarpon series and the Native Manta Ray series kayaks here at the San Marcos store. One of the many reasons these kayaks sell so well, especially among anglers, is their patented accessory attachment systems.
On behalf of the entire staff at ACK, we would like to wish each and every one of you a happy holiday weekend and a wonderful Christmas day. While Christmas is more than just about exchanging gifts, we do hope that you were able to get all the paddling gear you wished for and feel good about the paddling gear you gave!
Over the years of participating in camping and paddling trips, I’ve grown a little tired of the pre-made, just add boiling water meals. They are great for expeditions that require light packing but I have discovered with a little planning, backcountry cooking can be a lot of fun and easy to prepare!
The holiday season can easily become crazy and stressful so it’s always nice to be able to take a day where you can gather with close friends for a good time and reflect upon the previous year. I recently had the opportunity to do just that with our friends from P.
Note: I recently ran across a short article in Camping Life Magazine highlighting paddling destinations throughout the U.
As we quickly roll towards the Christmas holiday, I imagine that many folks are starting to scramble with last minute gift and grocery shopping duties and in some cases making travel preparations. The holidays are a time to celebrate and be thankful but it surely not a time to relax.
