ACK Demo Days is a unique experience for paddlers. Weather you’re in the market for a new kayak, or just getting into the sport, it gives you the opportunity to try out kayaks that just hit the market and determine what is right for you before you make a purchase.

Check out the new boats that will be at our 2017 Fall ACK Demos:

1. Kaku Kayak Wahoo 10.5

The Kaku Wahoo Fishing Kayak offers a roomy and stable platform to fish from. The open cockpit gives you plenty of space to move around for sighting and casting. The raised seat is comfortable for long days on the water. The Wahoo has four top-load gear tracks, 2 flush mount rod holders, and is Micro Power Pole and rudder ready. It also offers plenty of storage in the bow hatch, rear tankwell, and rear day hatch.

2. Perception Hi Life

The Perception Hi Life 11.0 is your one stop shop for fun on the water. The Hi Life is an 11-foot kayak with smooth tracking and enough stability to paddle as a SUP. The super low profile is reminiscent of a paddle board, but still provides a sturdy platform for kayaking.

Perfect for a day trip, this sit-on-top features a fold down seating system, with a cooler storage area under the seat, a rear tankwell for additional storage, and a center cup holder in front of the seat for easy access. Swim decks make exit and re-entry for kids and pets a breeze, and the track pads on the bow, midship, and stern help you keep your footing while paddling.

3. Ocean Kayak Malibu Pedal Kayak

Dive in feet first with the Ocean Kayak Malibu Pedal Kayak. The Malibu Pedal features an advanced PDL Drive System that makes for a fresh new kayaking experience. The Malibu Pedal is fun, zippy, stable and has turn-on-a-dime performance. A kid’s jump seat in the stern makes family outings a breeze, and the Malibu Pedal even has plenty of room to bring your dog along for a complete family adventure.

The PDL Drive System is capable of reaching 5.5 MPH with an impressive 10.3:1 gear ratio for efficient pedaling. It mounts into the Malibu Pedal in seconds and in shallow water it can tip up to its docking position in an instant. The pedals are padded for barefoot comfort and grip. The PDL Drive System console also doubles as splash resistant storage with a 6-inch access hatch

4. Hobie Mirage Compass

**Hobie Compass will be at ACK Demo Days, but may not be water ready to test**

Set your course with the new Hobie Mirage Compass, the newest addition to Hobie’s fleet of award-winning fishing kayaks. Simplicity defined, its time-tested MirageDrive pedal system with Glide Technology moves you easily through the water.

Outfitted with a breathable mesh seat, the Compass offers maximum stability and an oversized cockpit and flat deck for standing. A sharp turning radius makes it nimble in tight quarters, yet able to speed over open water in stealthy fashion. Fishing features include molded-in rod holders, H-Track accessory mounts and a transducer cavity ready for you to install a Lowrance fishfinder.

5. NRS Heron Fishing Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard

The NRS Heron SUP Board is an incredibly stable platform for fishing. Dual 7″ diameter side chambers act like outriggers so you can move around the board with ease to make pinpoint presentations and to land hard-fighting fish.

The double sidewall construction increases durability and the heavy-duty PVC drop-stitch construction stands up to abrasion and abuse no matter what conditions you fish in. The Heron includes 3 accessory mounts, bungee deck rigging at the front and rear for your cooler, tackle bag, or crate. Six stainless steel D-rings provide plenty of options for attaching gear. Fold up the Heron, chuck it in your rig and sneak to the fishing hole your buddies can’t access in a jon boat.

6. Old Town Castine

The Old Town Castine day touring kayak comes in three different sizes, making it easier to find a model that fits just right. The models gently tip the scales at 50, 53, and 56 pounds, respectively—giving boaters of any stature the ability to easily transport to-and-from the water. And, with ACS2, the most comfortable kayak seat in the industry, Castine gives every boater the customizable back and leg support needed to tour far and wide all day.

All models feature removable day storage on a sliding track for easy access when seated, and a phone cradle for use while out on the water. Sealed compartments are located in the bow and stern for dry storage. All three models have generous legroom. Available in four popular colors: Lemongrass, Sunrise, Black Cherry, and Cloud.

7. Old Town Sorento

The hard-working coastal Maine community of Sorrento lends its name to an equally hard-working kayak. The versatile Old Town Sorrento features a drop-down skeg to help paddlers of all levels track like an arrow – but also allows retraction for more maneuverability in shallow waters. This kayak’s adaptability makes it perfect for the beginner or intermediate paddler.

The Sorrento comes in two sizes, the 106sk and the 126sk. Just like the Castine, the Sorrento features ACS2 seating for supreme comfort, and a sealed stern compartment for dry storage. Available in four colors: Lemongrass, Sunrise, Black Cherry, and Cloud. Both Sorrento models weigh less than 51 pounds.
