You never know what to expect when you go out paddling. 77 year old Sonja Van Hall routinely paddles Oceanside Harbor just north of San Diego as part of her impressive exercise schedule. During her decade of paddles, Hall said she would collect trash and always wondered each time she scooped up a bottle if it’d have a message. Well, she finally found not one but two and they had traveled thousands of miles from New Zealand! The messages came from New Zealand school children as part of a class project and Hall looks forward to set up a pen pal program with the senders. To read the full story, click here.
