    I’m not a fan of this video because it understates the danger of cold water immersion and makes misleading and inaccurate statements about PFDs and cold water.

    It’s true that without a PFD, even a good swimmer can quickly drown in cold water due to a combination of cold shock and swimming failure. However, a PFD is not sufficient protection – particularly when the water temperature is below 60F. We discuss this in detail on our web site: http://www.coldwatersafety.org/PFDsCanAndCant.html
