Great weight capacity, handles well, tracks great, great for fishing, and 3-4 day trips. Holds plenty of gear, even with 210lb. Paddler, rudder not really needed. This is my 4th and 5th kayak(s). Performs as well as my son's 15' yak that was double the money, of he got a pod and cooler pod for that money, but not needed.
The older one I have has no skid plates, and the front hatch doesn't seal water tight, the newer one has those improvements.
Fantastic yak for the price, but keep it secured, my first one has been stolen, and recovered twice.
If you want one better hurry, not many left.

This is my 8th kayak. Maybe 9th. Anyway I finally found the kayak
that does it for me. This one is good at almost everything. Maybe
not good for whitewater, but I'm not interested in that. At 78 years
old I'm slowing down, losing strength and balance and just getting
tired. Here is what I was looking for and how it does for those
things.
Light Weight- Very light weight for a kayak this long and this sturdy
and well made
Tracks Well- Yes it tracks very well without a rudder
Good Glide- Very good glide
Speed- This was important to me and it is very good. Probably as
good as any recreational sit-on-top for it's size
Stable- Very stable for "tippyness". This was important to me
because of loss of balance in recent years.
Behavior in choppy water and high wind- Very good. Was in those
conditions yesterday and I stayed dry. It does weathervane into the
wind but easily controlled. Not worth getting a rudder for in my
opinion.
Also I plan to start fishing again but plan to take beer with me for
backup. This kayak should be perfect for fishing. Two rod holders
which is one too many for me.
My primary kayaking is on local lakes and flat water rivers. I love
the small black water rivers of the lowlands of SC. I paddle up the
river for about an hour, turn around and return with the current
while sipping beer. The average current is about 1.5 mph. Go alone
to see maximum wildlife. I go where there are gators and lots of
water snakes including water moccasins. Water moccasins are
harmless if you don't molest them and don't string your fish in the
water and temp a gator or snake.
Maybe I didn't mention that this kayak is maneuverable and a tight
bending river with obstructions is no problem.
I plan to take it to the beach and paddle through the breakers.
My other favorite kayak is the Hobie Mirage 13 with a sail kit.
These are my two kayaks.

Ben, thank you for your review. Your well put monologue
persuaded me to purchase the Prowler 13. This is my first kayak
and with so many choices, I couldn't make up my mind. But, I did
have another model in mind until I read your review. I am
advancing toward your age and can relate.... I know I will enjoy
this kayak very much. Thanks
A:
You can put a trolling motor on it by utilizing a aftermarket trolling motor mount. Stand-ability wise, this is not going to be a good kayak for this since it is only 28\" wide. This is meant to be more of a fast, big water and offshore type of kayak.
