Great product, easy to assemble, perfect four kayack rig. But after more than a month I have still not received VIN # and proof of ownership from Malone. Been taking it on the road without legal plates. Only a matter of time til some cop notices.
This review is written by an avid kayak angler who travels the US due to work and the yaks ALWAYS go.
I purchased this trailer in hopes of not having to do any modifications to make it interstate worthy. While I do not use the J
saddles, I added some stuff to the top side to make the PA and OB comfortable. These 2 yaks travel with 100% of the fishing gear
inside of them so the trailer receives no mercy.
This trailer has been on multiple cross country endeavors with the cruise control set on 78 mph. Since the economy (and fuel
prices) have become aggressive, I started driving a Cry 300 with a V-6 and was looking for a light weight, durable trailer that
wasn't to heavy for my car. This is it !!!!!
Attached to the tongue are the spare tire, 4 way lug wrench, and jack. I have had ZERO issues with the 12 inch tires that came
with the trailer. My PA rides at approx. 210 lbs and Outback rides at approx. 110 lbs.
I not only would recommend this trailer to others but I would purchase it again if the need arises.
Regardless of any product that I choose to purchase for kayak needs, ACK has earned my business though good old fashion
customer service. Their people are the elite in taking care of the customers that order their products.

this is a good trailer. It's got a few flaws in the design, but with a little
extra work can be a lot better. First off, throw away the electrical
connectors and get out the soldering iron and some heat shrink. I also
put some plastic wiring harness cover over the exposed wiring.
second, the trailer is galvanized BEFORE the pieces are cut. get
yourself some spray cold galvanize paint (zinc) at the hardware store
and spray all the edges of the parts before assembly. the trailer frame
is C channel. this means when you tighten down the upright supports
that hold the cross bars you are going to get some flex in the trailer. I
cut some pipe to fit inside the channel and put the u-bolts through
these as spacers so the open side if the channel can't compress and
flex. this really stiffened up the entire assembly. I also replaced the
bolts on the J carriers with longer bolts and double nutted them to
make them more difficult to remove from the crossbars, because
anyone could just unscrew the carriers and make off with them while
your out paddling. I'm very happy with the trailer now.
