Excellent for increasing stability but a real pain if you have to paddle. Still, I recommend as they greatly increase safety factor if, like me, you're older or suffer from balance issues.

These outrigger floats were easily installed though for my use on an Outback, I had to fashion shims to raise them about 3/16" above the gunwales to obtain better clearance for inserting the arms. The floats are easily inflated and installed. Stability of my kayak has been greatly improved and I consider these to be one of the more important enhancements that I've installed.

Yes, the AMA\'s are very tough & durable. You should have no issues unless the stumps are extremely sharp & the branches are really big but even then, you shouldn\'t worry about it. Thanks for the question
