Two years ago I bought a pedal kayak and wanted to buy a Hobie then, but was not quite ready for the investment. I bought my second choice, it was ok and served my fishing purposes. It began to be inefficient for me and never truly felt I could go long distances without tiring myself out. Now I was ready for a change and was ready to make the leap into a Hobie and am now very serious about kayak bass fishing. As a female, I was super excited to be a 2020 Hobie Pro Angler Mirage Drive 360 owner. The first day on the water was absolutely the best day of my life in kayak bass fishing. It took me only a half an hour to unlearn the old circular pedal drive and reset my legs to the Hobie styled flutter kicking method. I went to one of the toughest lakes in my area to catch bass. In two years, I had only caught one bass from my old kayak. But with the PA, I caught 3 bass in 2 hours trolling for bass in deep water with a silver lipless crankbait. The 360 drive is an absolute dream to use. The skeg and rudder keep the kayak steering true and with just a tap of the steering arm, the kayak responds immediately. The 360-degree steering of the drive mechanism will blow you mind with the ease and navigation of how precisely you can move the kayak in very tight spaces. I truly felt like a professional when I got out of the kayak after only spending 2 hours in it. I plan to travel this spring and summer with it for sure on larger lakes for all kinds of freshwater fish species. If you can afford the 5k for it, you will not be disappointed, but I would advise testing one out before purchase if you have never had a kayak before. I would also recommend a trailer and the Hobie cradles for it as well. This kayak will last me for many happy years... I just know it!

The Pro Angler 12 comes with the 360 pedal drive and its wider and the Capacity weight is more and the Hobie outback is with the 180 drive and the width is smaller than the Pro Angler and the capacity weight is less than the capacity weight of the Pro Angler.
