The RS117 is all the kayak a fisherman would ever need. For just under 1000 dollars it's arguably the best and most thought out in that price range.
Over a year in mine. Likes and dislikes of course. No kayak is perfect for every condition.
Likes
Weight is around 75 pounds. Easy for one person to load and unload.
No hatch. No leaks. Open design at bow with a cover to all some storage if needed. For me a hatch is not something I have used. Things still get wet or damp and eventually they all will leak. The kayak does have access to the hull in the back bits it's screwed down.
This kayak has not had a drop of water in the hill and I've used it just about every weekend for 1 1/2 years. I've also left it sitting in the bed of the truck for extended days during rain storm. I've not once had to pull the plug to dump water.
Stable. Rock solid stability. Anyone could stand in this. I throw a cast net from it and have not once felt like I was going to flip her.
Comfy seat that has high and low position. Paddles just fine in high position for me and only once have I used low and that was only when I took it out the first time trying Everything the out.
Plenty of room in back for buck, cooler and gear.
Plano boxes can fit under the seat.
Hondo orange is a beautiful. Have have yet to get run over by a powerboat in it. Hard to imagine not being seen in that color. Does not seem to affect the fishing. I still catch my share.
Very customizable and options for a rudder, power pole or trolling motor mounts.
American made and proudly.
Cons
No kayak on the market is the perfect kayak. If there was it would be out of my price range. I bought this kayak not because of the price but because of the stability. No regrets
Kayak needs flex wings install to be completely satisfied. I definitely notice a major difference in boat control and paddling. Well worth the money.
Boat control in winds can be an issues. Boat hull design is the reason. If you have ever fished out of a jon boat in a windy day this boat can do the same exact. Flex wings help a great deal tho
There is not perfect kayak. What you give up in boat control and paddling you gain back 10 fold in stability.
Best boat on the market I think. No doubt in my mind that I bought the right kayak for me.

Purchased the RS117 about a month ago and have fished in the Bogue Sound (NC) several times. This kayak is extremely stable and I have fished standing up for hours at a time. This kayak tracks great and is very easy to paddle in open water and does well with boat wakes, etc. I added two Yak Attack rod holders in the tracks, an anchor trolly system for my anchor pole, and that's really all you need to do to modify this kayak . The seat is extremely comfortable and you can be on the water all day and never have back pain. The price point of $999.99 is very reasonable for a kayak that does so much. I'm 5'11" and weigh in around 255 and this boat is again very stable.

Clean deck. Easy to paddle even does well in coastal winds. Plenty of space for customizing with add-ons. Comfortable seat that does not interfere with fishing.

On the 2020 Bonafide RS117 Limited Edition Fishing Kayak you can\'t add a pedal drive to it but you can add one of the Torqueedo motors that we have in our website to it.
