The blade consists of sven laminates of basswood, maple, and cherry. Originally designed for flat water racing, the BB Special is ideal for cruising on flat water. Designed for a shorter, more efficient stroke, the 14-degree bend and wide blades produce more power so you paddle longer with less fatigue.

I use this paddle and recommend it to others to use for kayak race training. Lightweight with the bent shaft will give you a super workout and ready for the event. It is still a great flat water paddle as well the Bending Branches BB Special Canoe Paddle is a really versatile item.

I bought this here since my local outfitter retail store could not get me one for 3 months! I got mine in 3 days from Austin! Go figure! I looked at the next model up and decided that the BB Special was a better value. It's solid, light, and with the Rockguard it should hold up well. I would not hesitate to recommend this paddle and I will buy another one when I need to.
