Other than wanting to add a couple more gear tracks and a depth/fish finder, the operation and use of this boat has been and continues to be compelling. By compelling, I mean I can't wait to get back on the water. Honestly, it was initially a bit harder to pedal and keep up a steady pace than I thought it would be but that is because you are using muscles you don't normally use unless you have a recumbent bicycle. I have gotten steadily stronger with just a few outings and now I can pretty much keep up a good pace all day. This is a really fun way to work out and have fun fishing at the same time. I have learned to watch carefully for shallow hazards. The spring loaded "shock" on the PDL drive works for slow "bumps" but I don't want to find out what happens if you hit a shallow rock or log at a fast pace. It paddles better than my Ocean Trident 13 (with the rudder down), so it is no problem to break out the paddle in shallow areas. The only other essential piece of equipment I need (should be here in 2 days) is a Yak Attack warning alert flag pole with light. I have the Photic Blue kayak and it seems to be hard for boaters to see it on the water. The good news is you can pedal forward or backward quickly and evade inattentive boaters. I try to stay on "skinny" water to avoid motor boats, but that is not always possible. KUDOS to Old Town and ACK. I could not be happier! I feel like this boat was designed and built specifically for me. LOL
