These pads are awesome and look
great on my truck rack. I
really like the fact that they
do not have any print on them
and are all black.

I bought these pads to fit my 2010
Subura Outback. They fit great,
however I wish the way you secured the
pads to the bars were more substantial
but definitely adequate. The padding
is nice and I am using them to carrier
a canoe that is 34 wide at the roof
rack and these really do a nice job
for that job.

Honestly not a bad deal for $40,
especially when its so hard to
find a set of rack pads that will fit
oversize bars like what I have
on my truck. My only gripe is the foam
doesnt seem to be as
tough as outfitting foam. The good thing
is if your foam wears
out, you can chop up one of the super foam
pool noodles or a
cheap foam sleeping mat to make more
padding. The covers are
designed so you can remove and replace the
foam if need be,
which is nice. If you are hauling flat
hulled boats like a playboat
or a sup board, I doubt youd ever wear out
the foam since the
weight of the boat is distributed over a
larger area. I however,
have a boat with several edges that press
down into the foam, so
it creates thin spots over time.
The covers themselves seem pretty bomber,
the ballistic nylon is
tough and thick. The only thing I did was
pull the shock cords
out of the ends and replace them with zip
ties. Its my little extra
added security against someone just
unlacing the ends,
unstrapping the velcro and taking off with
my pads. Will it stop
a determined thief, no but it will at
least make them think twice.
Will a thief worry about a set of foam
pads, probably not but Ive
seen foam coolers disappear before at a
take-out. The only
other thing that bugs me is my set did not
come with the
ACK.com logo screened on them like in the
product pictures,
they were just blank. Not a deal breaker,
but I dont care a bit to
rock the ACK logo on stuff I like.

I was worried I'd have to fork out some
significant cash for a
rooftop kayak carrier that will fit my
2001 Xterras beefy
factory crossbars. So to my pleasant
surprise after searching
ACK that they already have the answer.
