As you might notice I have reviewed this back in May of 2010, just got around to getting a hatch for the other Prowler. No more than 20 min. to install, mark it, cut it, I use a Dremel W/extended bit much easier to control than Jig sawlay the frame, mark holes then drill out, use opposing sides so as not to warp and dont tighten too tight at first. Im almost 70 so know you young studs should be able to do it.

ACK delivered this to my door right away and install was easy. I've had the hatch installed for 1 year or so and it stays dry as ever. The hatch is a great addition to the Big Game. Allows me to safely secure my dry bag and extra gear.

seemed rather easy to install, lots more room for storage, I stuffed about 50 lbs of oak wood for our campfire first trip out, rest of my gear in bow and on large back rack. I have 2 Big Game Prowlers and that's what gets asked to use.

Nice addition for the Big Game Prowler. I needed it because I was planning to go camping in the Florida Everglades and I needed addition access to the kayak's middle section. You really have to be patient when you install the hatch; however,it was a piece of cake. Overall, ACK is the best around!!!

Pro: Huge storage and lid is removable to squeeze in large items. Thick gasket under top as well as a thick gasket on inner lip for good sealing. Dependable double knobs to ensure an even close. Cons: Sometimes a hinge might come in handy so make sure a hingeless model is what you want. Not easy to install for beginners (ie this is your first mod ever like me). Overall this is a quality product with finicky install hardware. My suggestion would be to use galvanized washers and rivets because the silicone will be close to tacked before you can get all the screws tightened down. PLAN AHEAD because if you need a tool in the middle of install the silicone will set without pressure.
