Nice trailer. Fits our 13 ft. kayaks. Trailer assembled easily. Straps
provided are a little flimsy and loosen easily. The straps should be
higher quality considering the price of the trailer.

Love the kayak trailer. There was a bolt missing when I was putting it
together. I notifed ACK and it was shipped within a couple of days.
Excellent service! Thank-you.
Pros: Nice product. Shipping on time. Solid
Con: Don't plan your kayak trip ahead of time. I found few items
missing in the shipping packages and had to call them in. Good news,
they shipped them expeditiously.
Pros: solidly built, tows beautifully, easy to
assemble, good instructions, sure beats lifting my
kayak on top of my minivan.
Cons: expensive, incandescent lights instead of
LEDs, wiring is unprotected (recommend spiral wrap
or something similar; there are a lot of sharp
edges), instructions should have a section for those
who buy the retractable tongue kit at the same time
(not too hard to figure out though), U-bolts aren't
very elegant (but they do the job).
Other: took the trailer on an 800+-mile round-trip
fishing trip and had absolutely no problems with it
at speeds up to 70mph (normal cruise was 65).
After the trip I noticed some wheel bearing grease
splattered on the inside of the rims; hopefully this
isn't indicative of a problem with the bearing seals.
Recently I built a deck for it out of 1/2" plywood and
bolted a 48-gallon Rubbermaid Action Packer on top
to hold my gear.
The little trailer is perfect for me.!! I am
a 55 yr old women with some knee and
neck issues and loading my kayak onto
the roof of my Ford Escape was a
challenge. Assembly was done by my
husband and son. It took about 5 hrs to
complete. They had all the right tools in
their shop which made it easier. The
directions sent with the trailer where
great, follow them!! I could lift it and
move it around pretty easy but to save
my back I did buy a swivel jack with a
wheel and installed it on the tongue. I
had 2 more J-cradles and put them on
so I could haul 3 to 4 kayaks. I have not
hauled more than 2 kayaks yet but do
not fore see any problems. The tie down
straps that came with it work great.
My Escape is only a 4 cl engine but has
no problems pulling this trailer. It pulled
nicely behind the car with no swaying; I
never go over 60 miles an hour. I have
driven long horse trailers before and
can back one good so I had no problem
backing this trailer. The long tongue put
it far enough back behind the car that I
could easily see the trailer.
Within a few days after I received the
trailer kit I receive the manufacturer’s
certificate in the mail. There was no
problem getting the tag and title for it. I
live in NC.
I can’t say enough good things about
this trailer. I guess I could have bought
a utility trailer and rigged it up for a
kayak hauling but this trailer is just
perfect. I love it!!!! I have
recommended to all my kayak women
friends. I would have attached pictures
but didn't see that option on this review
American made too!!!

Excellent investment. I was
getting tired of lifting my
Ocean Kayak Malibu 2 XL onto
the roof of our minivan every
weekend and invested in this
trailer. Was very pleased with
quality and ease of assembly
(however, it did take about 4
hours to assemble). Having
this trailer also helped solve
my kayak storage issues (I
now have two Malibu 2 XL's
and store them on the trailer
[on the J hooks] in my garage,
which allows me to store
smaller items below on the
floor). I also invested in the
storage bin and the retractable
tongue. Happy with both as
well. The storage bin was not
quite as large as it looked on-
line, but it comes in handy for
storing our 6 lifevests and
small misc. items. Regarding
the retractable tongue, it is
held in place with a single
hole/pin, which leads to a bit of
tongue wobble. I will probably
drill a second hole about 8
inches from the original and
add a second pin to reduce the
wobble. Overall, very pleased
with these products.
This trailer package was everything that it was advertised as. I received all
the parts and there were no parts missing. The assembly was relatively
easy to do. If you can follow directions you should be able to assemble this
package with no trouble. I have used this product a few times this past
summer and it performed perfectly. I added two bike racks to my trailer
package and therefore I had 2 kayaks, 2 bikes and the storage box that fits
the trailer. The only problem I really had is with the bike racks. To make
them work properly I had to move the cross members closer to each other
and move the storage box toward the back a little more. I added two extra
holes to the frame to accomadate the storage box. Not really necessary but
I did for my own safety sake. This worked for me because my kayaks are
only 12 feet long. If you have a longer kayak and need a bike rack added
then I suggest purchasing an extra crossbar. I also added a couple of
splices to the wiring so that I could unplug the two sides. This enabled me to
remove the tongue and store the trailer upright in my garage, saving me a
lot of room. All and all a great product that I am sure I will enjoy for years
