Review:
Bought this kayak a few weeks ago have been out on town lake in Austin 6 times. Love it and it gets a lot,of nods of respect from fisherman and recreational types. I love being able to stand on it and sit down. The Larry chair is built for this Kayak and I do not love its comfort but it's extremely portable and fairly stable. This review would be 5 stars if a few things happened 1) the circular storage portals are very picky and hard to open. If you open them too far they get stuck and are almost impossible to open with 1 hand especially if it's wet. It's hard to get a grip on them and they will fly off into the abyss if you are not careful. 2) work on accessories for Larry chair to make it more comfortable 3) the skeg should be mandatory 4) it would be great if there was a portage system custom tailored to the diablos that fit their specific hull design. It doesn't fit the kayak carts super well I have tried with it.

I have waited a few months to review to give plenty of time to use my Chupacabra and can say without a doubt that it is the perfect boat for me. I have it set up with the larry chair, skeg kit and also added yak attack gear track in the front and also behind the seat. I have a lowrance dsi depth finder and was able to use the lowrance scupper hole transducer mount with only a slight modification. The dsi transducer tucks up nicely in the scupper and I have not had any issue while fishing in heavy cover. I have been using a 250cm bending branches pro angler paddle and would not go with anything shorter. I fish mostly in mill ponds, small lakes, and slow moving black water rivers and the Chupacabra is perfect for this. It paddles very well and with the skeg tracks well. When fishing I'll raise the skeg as the boat is much more maneuverable. It is not fast (was not designed to be) but not difficult to paddle either. Where the Chupacabra really shines is in stability, standing to fish is no issue. Even though I find I sit most of the time it is nice to be able to stand, especially when the bass are on bed. The other major plus is the light weight, it is no problem to load and move around alone. I have really been trying to find a negative but for me it really has been the ideal boat. so the pros are: super stable, lightweight, maneuverable, comfortable for long hours of fishing, great storage, very customizable layout.

This is an awesome fishing kayak! Super stable and really roomy. Love this kayak! My only negative rating for this yak is tracking, even with a skeg this yak is a bit of a chore to paddle long distances.
