Review:

While peddling the turbo fin mast broke right below the attachment point. I was relieved to see that the Mirage Drive was designed so that you dont lose the fin when the mast breaks.It had many miles in both salt and fresh water. I ordered two, one for a backup. It was very simple to replace. ACK had this shipped out immediately. Great website with a very active customer base. The staff and customers seem to be very knowledgeable - reviews are very helpful.

We recently took our inflatable 14t Kayak with the turbo fins to Newport Bay California and took the 12 mile kayak trip. We were next to another kayak with the mirage drive that had the regular fins. We kept our paddle strokes with our turbo fins at a comfortable pace and our fellow kayakers had to make two strokes for every one of ours to keep pace with us. We kept this steady pace for three hours of nonstop leg work and never got tired. These fins move you at a very fast pace without extra effort. Worth every penny!!!!!!

Review:

The V2 replacement mast for the Mirage Turbo Fins is a good piece of engineering. I can recommend anyone to replace the V1 mast and not to wait till it fails under unfavorable circumstances.

Review:

If you're going on a long trip or in remote areas, carry one or two of these as spares, along with the tools to change them (small vicegrips, flathead screwdriver, Loctite). It's easier than you might think to bend a mast by hitting a shallow spot or rock.
