The good news first. The Yakima Super Joe 2 Bike Rack is light, sturdy, easy to remove, and reinstall. My first usage was a 3 hour drive on a road that was bumpy at times. The rack needed minimal tightening during the trip. The bikes and my car arrive without any damage. The clips to fasten on the bikes are very easy to use. The not quite as good. It took me 30 minutes of staring at the instructions and a couple of choice words to install it for the first time. I had to change out straps a couple of times before I figured it out. In fairness, I'm not the handiest person and my car (Honda CRV) required both top and bottom glass hooks which complicated installation. Since I have a hatchback, I have to completely remove the rack prior to opening the hatch. I would recommend to others.
Took the rack out for the first time on a drive from LA to SF and it worked perfectly. Definitely had to use a couple bungee cords to secure the bike and keep it from wobbling, but once I did this I was able to safely drive as fast as I wanted (up to 80s in some spots) without any issues. A great buy for the price, and fit over the spoiler on my '01 Maxima without a problem.
