ACK Review: The best river anchor we have found for the money. You can't beat a good grappling hook anchor in the rivers, whether you are anchoring to a tree on the bottom or directly to the bottom, this anchor will hold. However, if you are spending a lot of time in lakes or at the coast, you may want to consider the claw anchor instead, it has better holding power and sets everytime.

Well-designed. Works great on rocky bottom to hold boat in place while launching when it's windy.

Works great, especially if you want something on the shore when the waves are trying to move the kayak.

Holds surprisingly well against current and wind in the smaller sloughs of the Sacramento River Delta. I haven't tried it in the main channel yet. Make sure you let out enough scope of line to engage anchor. It won't set if you don't have enough line out. I use 100 feet of line for depths of under 30 feet.

A good solid anchor. Works well to slow down my kayak's drift on a sandy bottom. Folds up nice.
