I really like these grips on my
kayak paddle. Before, I would get
irritation from the paddle rubbing
between my thumb and first finger.
These grips solve that problem. The
only negative was that they slip
some and have to be repositioned a
couple times during an outing.
However, I dont know how they could
be redesigned to be totally slip-
proof and still be able to stretch
and slide in place on the paddle.
Overall, a great item for the
paddler.

To start they were a little
tough to slide onto the paddle
tubing. One I slide on dry
that was super hard the other
I used water as tag recommends
this worked better. However
they both seem to slide around
a little after a little bit of
paddling. The grip itself is
great. The grip certainly
reduces fatigue and chance of
blisters. I would still
recommend these.

Bought several of the slide on
grips. Due to variations in
the stadard diamater of paddle
shafts did find that some went
on relatively easy while
others were harder to put on.
Once they were in place had
negligable movement on them
during regular paddles and
found that after three to four
outings needed to make minor
adjustments. These were
easily accomplished. I would
recommend them for anyone that
wants comfort and a sure grip
on their two section paddle.

Good product - we have
Aquabound stringray paddles
which are
2 piece, but the adjustable
connector is quite large on
one side
so getting the 2 piece
yakgrips on the one side was
difficult - the
2 sets we got seemed to be a
bit different and one wouldn't
go
over the connector. If you
have these paddles I would
recommend the one pice paddle
yak grips that velcro on -
unfortunately they only come
in black

Yak grips.
I bought the velcro grips for
a Aquabound Stingray TLC
paddle and the slide-on grips
for a Werner Skagit two-piece.
I recommend using the velcro
grips for all paddles now
(unless you just HAVE to have
color). They are 5 star.
They are easy to put on, have
some elasticity for fitting,
and easy to adjust by un-
velcroing them. They don't
slide, and the joining seam is
not noticeable when paddling.
One slide-on grip went on
quickly and easily. One
slide-on grip took a long
frustrating time to get into
position. Have not used that
paddle yet; so don't know if
the easy to put on one will
slide around when if it gets
wet. Also don't know if the
hard-to-install one will be
difficult to adjust once it
cooks on.

These actually work better than I expected on 2 pc Werner paddle, bent shaft. Very little rotational slippage. No longitudinal slippage. You do not notice the slight rotational slippage until after the days paddling and see maybe 1/8 of full rotation slippage over the entire day. Has no noticeable effect on grip or control. They also and great visibility to the black shaft and black paddle Werner paddles in case you drop the in the water in a flip. Highly recommend.

These grips are great. Before I needed to wear gloves and even then my hands would move around on the paddle. These grips are comfortable, my hands are always symmetrically placed, and I can also wear my ring without it interferring with my grip...with no gloves. I did have to Jerry-Rig by placing thin strips of tape at the edge of each grip (Gorrilla Tape is ideal) which keeps them from moving when wet. They could only be improved by including small grooves for fingers for more anotomy purposes.

these things were hard to get on. adding water certainly helped. but once in place they stay in place which then makes them difficult to remove. I found them to be too bulky while I was paddling and kept noticing my hands falling asleep from gripping them. I will be passing them along to a friend who might find them more useful. id rather do without padding that deal with the bulk of these. for someone who likes this amount of padding this product will be great. theres no flaw with the product...i just dont like it for myself

I did 42 miles one weekend in a kayak with two guys in canoes. They had blisters. I did not. I think these saved me. The are hard to install. They also slowly creep around after many miles but they slide back where you want them. I need to glue them in place or something. I'm sure they saved my hands.

These grips are very comfortable to use, and are not that difficult to put on. They do end up getting a bit of a twist from slipping even following the instructions. I may try another installation method of using hair spray on them when I put them on. Overall worth using

LOVE the cushioning they provide and the fact that
I'm no longer getting blisters. The only downside
is that they tend to slip a little even after
following the instructions.

These are great! Without these I got blisters on the inside of my thumbs after about 1 hour of paddling. With these Yakgrips I was able to paddle for 5 hours and not get any blisters!

Hard to put on. After I got it on it would slide out of place and then was just as hard to move it back. The positive is when it is where I want it it to be it does provide the comfort that is advertised.

The Yakgrips are comfortable, however they are difficult to put on following the directions as written. Also, once they get wet while paddling, they tend to move around. If I were to do it over, gloves would be my choice.

Very easy to put on - and in my case they do still move along the paddle somewhat. So I adjusted the drip rings, and that has helped keep them properly located.

These Yakgrips certainly help with comfort, and for casual paddling I like them a lot. But for kayaking in a more aggressive manner, either on a river or in the surf, they're going to slip when wet and move around on the paddle too much. So they're great for the right use, just not for everything. What I find amazing is how my yellow ones were a bright yellow when I got them, but now after a few uses have turned more bright green in color - which is awesome because now they match my lime green Ocean Kayak!

Better than a plain metal shaft, but they slip on the shaft when wet. Would prefer a thicker rubberized grip to these - like original equipment ones.

Fairly easy to install. Feel great! Do slip around some when they get wet. Rolled back both ends of each grip, put on a ring of double-faced tape, unrolled the ends. Will see how that works. Otherwise, they do save your hands.

These are the perfect addition to any paddle. Bought a few pair of grips. Wetting the slip on ones definitely makes for an easier install. As others have mentioned, they do slip and rotate a little when paddling. I will try the hairspray trick and see if that helps. Overall, we are very satisfied with the grips - improves comfort.

These work great in avoiding blisters and no more having to wear gloves! However, being a female, the store recommended I purchase a smaller shaft paddle and the grips tend to slip when wet. I will try the recommendation of another reviewer and see if duct tape fixes the problem.

These grips (both the slip on and the velcro) are the greatest... I wear rings that don't come off, especially the one on my thumb. Before the grips I could count on blistering and PAIN. No more. Better kayakers have said to me "You're gonna paddle with those rings on?" My comeback, "With my Yakgrips, I don't even notice I'm wearing them....."

I bought 3 sets, 1 for me, 1 for my wife, 1 for her best friend. The girls like them more than me, much more comfortable, guides their hands to the proper paddle position, more comfortable than wet gloves. Our only complaint is they slide up and down the shaft while paddling, a little duct tape goes a long ways to solving this problem.
