I used to mount 8" GT175 aluminum tracks on my Yaks, but have
since found I usually only mount one item per track so have decided to
go with the 4" tracks with the gear track backing plate for security on
heavy items like trolling gear. SO far it has saved me a few $, but
most important I get to add more tracks at different locations.
I have not installed yet, but the quality looks great and they are
definitely heavy duty. I just received my ram mount rod holders so I
will be installing this weekend. I just wished ya'll had a wider variety
on stocking ram mount products, other wise this would've been
installed over another ago.
Excellent product. I checked
out the less expensive plastic
tracks and although lighter and
less expensive I was
concerned that they would not
be as durable in the long run.
Have used these a lot and they
hold up very well. I learned to
apply a light film of oil inside
the track and outside to help
maintain the protective coating
and remove any sand from the
track and T bolt in the
accessory attachment. Read in
other reviews and agree that
these are the first and last set
of tracks that you will need to
buy. Installed on Old Town
Predator 13 flat mounting
plate. Track is made to fit on
curved surface so the inside is
curved. Filled in gap on flat
surface with marine goop
which helps to keep water out
and extra holding power.
These tracks look great as
I have several YakAttack
products and they are all
excellent. The stuff is just well
thought out, made from quality
components, and put together
with an eye for detail. I would
suggest you watch any videos
associated with the product to
make sure you have the
easiest method of install in
mind before you start drilling
holes in your yak! Also double
check compatibility with other
products. I found out the hard
way that there are different
FullBack mounting plates for
MightyMounts and GearTracs.
I used this on my Jackson Cuda
mounting a Garmin
Echo 100 on the center hatch.
I did go with the
Yakattack Fatback since the
hatch was this and it
matched perfectly. You cannot
go wrong with any of
