Seems to be a VERY tight fit on my older Pamlico Excel. In my
wife and I gave up on our only attempt so far to put this cover on
ahead of an impending thunder storm. To be fair, the boat was
sitting on a piece of indoor outdoor carpet under a car port at the
time and it kept wanting to scoot around on the carpet when we
tried to stretch the cover over the cockpit. We will give it another
go but it's kind of looking like it may have to be returned. I like
the quality of materials and workmanship as well as the design.
Hopefully we can get it to stretch a bit to fit.
When we received the cover it appeared to be of good quality
construction, however, our hopes of it fitting our Pelican Unison 136T
were dashed when we found it was not wide enough to fit. I suspect
that had the product fit we would have been very satisfied with the
product. We ended up returning the item. So far ACK customer
service has been responsive and helpful with the return process.
After following their advice I ordered and got all excited about finally
finding a cure for keeping my yak clean, especially having local felines
finding the upside down cockpit irresitable as a camp site.
Unfortunately the cover I received was about 3" shy of fitting end-to-
end, while the side fit was perfect. I was tempted to try to stretch the
cover over the lip, but one of the few advantages of growing up is that
you learn when something's just not gonna work. This was one such
Customer service was very helpful and took back the cover, even
covering the return charges.
My new replacement cover- a few inches longer but theoretically
MORE NARROW by 3 inches turned out to be a perfect fit lengthwise
buy FAR TOO WIDE to close up around the cockpit! As another
reviewer also found, these things are not an exact science, more like a
hope-for-the-best in each particular situation. Also like the other
reviewer I guess I'll be keeping it since I already returned the first
one, but I'm pretty disappointed that when it should be way tighter
on the sides than the first one it's so loose it won't stay on.
I don't blame ACK, as these things are made in China; I just wish it
came within a mile of being the dimensions listed so it would work
Item fit an finish is outstanding. With the ability to strap cover down
makes transportation a breeze!
This is one of the very few
after market products for my
kayak, a Perception Prodigy
While my intentions are to do
mostly flat water river and lake
paddling, the option of a spray
skirt appeal to me (rain when
on a kayak camping trip, etc.).
No this isn't a spray skirt, it's
pretty much for storage only
(not even transportation). For
the price I figured to get it for
when my kayak is stored and
also to explore customizing it
for some level or protection

I haven't had a chance to do
the exploring part, at least not
actively, but I will say it fits the
_huge_ cockpit opening on my
kayak (size: T 85/24),
However it is not a tight/snug
fit as I imagine an actual spray
skirt would have to be. In fact
this droops and anyting landing
on it (kayak upright) would
settle and stay on it as it sags
into the cockpit. It does have
straps to wrap around the hull
in order to keep it secured.
For what it is and the cost, I'm
please with it. For now I'm out
just about every weekend
kayaking so it hasn't seen
Material is what I expected, but
the sizing of the cover is not.
Cover is to large with no way
to tighten around the cockpit.
Straps help, and for the price I
elected to keep it
The ACK web-site was very user
friendly. I easily found the
correct size cockpit covers for my
kayaks, they arrived promptly
and fit the boats perfectly.
just what I wanted.
