Easy enough install, straight forward directions. Amazing control on the open sea. Should have installed rudder years ago.

Nice rudder, easy to deploy, slight modifications on some of the nuts and washers made an improvement.

Review:
I have not had the kayak in the water, but the rudder was fairly easy to install. I cut the 4" hole in the back of the tankwell for access in running cables, as no center hatch is installed on the boat. As I wanted the peddles far enough back for the children to be able to use them, measuring the cable length had to be done carefully. I had to fasten the peddle assemblies with two screws each, as the back holes were very close to the back end of the tracks. Do not stretch the elastic cord too much when installing the rope used for raising the rudder. If it is too tight, a lot of effort is required to raise the rudder.

I like it very much it works real good. It takes time to put it together so don't be in a big race to get her done. Remember to read the steps you can do it, make sure to have a drill and hand tools. You don't need to make a big hole in the back like tells you to you can run the cable with a wire snake with or some long bailing wire to pull the cable and the wire cover. I put marine glue on all my rubber and plastic so that no water water will get in. Take your time and do it right and you will be happy with your new rudder.
