Excellent build quality and relative ease of construction. Holds the weight of your haul.

Build quality seems to be pretty good. Only problem I have is that the hardware was substandard and 4 of the t-bolts cross threaded the nuts and then broke. After having it a month already I still haven't gotten to use it because Thule warranty says it will take at least a month to get hardware. This seems like a good reason to use standard bolts and nuts. Might not buy Thule again because of this choice.

Review:
This rack does not go into the low position on the 2006 Tacoma. The slight angle of the sides of the bed liner make this impossible This also makes installing the additional adapter kit twice as hard because you have nothing to balance the upright holders with and they do not fit entirely on top the bed rail. After continually having the adapters shift during installation and snap out of the Toyota's bed rail, I ended up pitching the directions and putting the rack together on the ground with the overhead rail bolted loosely. That kept the project in square and took the wiggle out of the uprights as I bolted the adapters on. Fitting was still tough as the bottom half of the adapter has a grove that is supposed to mesh with the other half, but turns with the bolt once torque is applied resulting in that grove turning sideways and kicking the adapter off the rail again. As noted above, in spite of all the hassle getting it on you can take it off really easily. You take a big chance just leaving it at a boat launch unattended. The "locks" only lock the uprights to the upright supports. They do not lock the supports to your vehicle and the whole thing can easily be lifted off. The design of the adapters you have to buy are themselves part of the problem. They have a lip that is supposed to lock into the bracket. Unfortunately once you get the bolt to the point where you need to apply torque, that bottom bracket turns with the bolt and the lip locks sideways, causing you to have to back the bolt way off.

Review:
I bought the 422 for my 2005 Tundra and it fits great. There was some concern it would not lower to the lowest position but that's not a problem with the 2005 Tundra Double Cab. Made one 1000 mile round trip carrying 2 yaks and a couple other trips about 200 miles round trip. The 422 worked very well and I've had no problems. It does take two people to load the yaks so you may want to consider a trailer if it's important for you to load by yourself.
