Great Kayak's I have a Trident 11. Straps on ports and seat are garbage. I have used this kayak maybe 5 times in just over a year and it gets washed after every use and its covered when not in use. Seat has broken a strap three times now and I get them professionally re-done and it just tears in another spot. Front storage port straps three sides broke on my last trip just re-snapping after storing my keys and fishing lic in front inside (very cool Feature) hanging sipper bag. On last trip my $70 kayak gloves which I always put on seat strap using the Glove strapped Velcro went lost after the strap broke on seat. Other problem with this kayak is lack of bottom support so if you don't use side paddles which I now do, and you just strap it down the bottom will bend in and not come back. Kayak still works fine, and I need to get some support that will fit to push and support bottom inside the kayak storage back behind and this is a good idea to keep stuff from going to far out of your reach anyway. Ocean should provide a removable piece as part of the kayak to do this job. Trident 11 a great stable kayak other than these minor problems. I am 67 and love the light weight of the Trident 11 as compared to other models.
This is a replacement. The seats can not hold up to UV sunlight over time. The first one only lasted 3 months in full sunlight (Arizona), then the straps turned to powder. The seats are comfortable but need to be stored inside. You should always store your yak in shade as well. Still, for a product that is intended for fun-in-the-sun, you would think the materials could be more resistant to UV degradation.
Good for the money. Not a lot of support, but I guess you get what you pay for.
