I purchased the Skybox 16 approximately 1 month ago and have driven on three trips (approximately 2500 miles) with it loaded atop my Toyota Matrix. Purchased a rooftop carrier because we have a big dog and recently had a baby and needed extra space and did not want to purchase a bigger vehicle yet. After doing lots of research and evaluating both soft and hard rooftop carriers, I decided hard was the way to go since I already had a Yakima rack. It fits perfectly on the Matrix, does not look too big, no problems with hatchback clearance, and it barely cut down on my gas mileage (still achieved approximately 33 mpg with minimal wind; 28 with heavy wind). It does not make much noise, but the Matrix is not the quietest car so I may be used to some noise anyway. Drove in the rain and all the gear stayed dry. Overall, it feels high in quality, opens from both sides (which really is a nice feature), it holds a ton of stuff, and I am very happy with this purchase. Plus, the price from ACK, combined with the July 2011 Yakima rebate, made it a pretty good deal.
