Great Product. I bought it for
my son and daughter-in-law
with 3 kids for his Honda Pilot.
Certainly makes camping a lot
easier for the family. They
were going to buy a used
brand I've need heard of, but
we beat them to the punch and
they are very happy!! Very
easy to install!! Almost had a
catastrophe the other day
when my daughter-in-law
almost went into a parking
garage with low clearance. The
brakes also work good on the
All in all an awesome product
at a very reasonable
cost.....Also need to give 5-
stars to Austin Kayak...This is
my third purchase from them
and the customer service and
commitment to satisfied
customers is STELLAR!!!!
Awesome product. It's HUGE and fit all our luggage in it
for our 2000 mile trip. We originally were contemplating
getting the Skybox 18 or the Skybox 16, but we found that
the 16 fit our needs just fine. It fit PERFECTLY on our 2013
Subaru Outback with room for our hatch to open.
The box is sturdy and was easy to put on and take off. I
liked that the box is accessible from both sides. GREAT
product, highly recommended!
Great box! easy on and off and
only lost 1.5 miles per gallon
on my Subaru
I purchased the Skybox 16 approximately
1 month ago and have driven on three
trips (approximately 2500 miles) with it
loaded atop my Toyota Matrix. Purchased
a rooftop carrier because we have a big
dog and recently had a baby and needed
extra space and did not want to purchase
a bigger vehicle yet. After doing lots
of research and evaluating both soft and
hard rooftop carriers, I decided hard
was the way to go since I already had a
It fits perfectly on the Matrix, does
not look too big, no problems with
hatchback clearance, and it barely cut
down on my gas mileage (still achieved
approximately 33 mpg with minimal wind;
28 with heavy wind). It does not make
much noise, but the Matrix is not the
quietest car so I may be used to some
noise anyway. Drove in the rain and all
the gear stayed dry.
Overall, it feels high in quality, opens
from both sides (which really is a nice
feature), it holds a ton of stuff, and I
am very happy with this purchase. Plus,
the price from ACK, combined with the
July 2011 Yakima rebate, made it a
pretty good deal.
