Description: Need more sole? NRS took all the features that make the Desperado Sock, the most comfortable sock available, and added a 3mm rubber sole and 2-mm plastic shim for additional traction and protection. The Desperado Shoe is still ultra-low-profile, and ultra-comfortable, but offers even better support and protection for extended portages and side hikes. These booties are running snug - If you are in between sizes or have wide feet you may want to consider the next size larger.

ACK Review: Great for portaging. They keep my feet warm and protected from sharp rocks, although I'm sure something razor sharp could penetrate the bottom. Great traction on the bottom for sure footing. Does a good job of keeping sand out with the drawstring closure.

Review: Well made, lightweight, keeps feet warm, snug fit, it's like paddling in your slippers!

Review: The NRS Desperado Shoe is a good shoe everyone said to order one size larger and i did but I probably would have been ok ordering my normal size.

Review: Finally, my feet fit into my low profile kayak without awkward twists and turns. Comfortable, warm even when wet and I don't have to bring another pair of boots/shoes for when I'm not in the kayak. They aren't tight but are quite snug - buy the next larger size.

Review: Love'em. I just spent a chilly April week in the tidal creeks and waters of low country South Carolina. My feet were never one of my concerns. These are good kayaking shoes.

Review: These shoes are completely comfortable right out of the box. Of course the only way to really know is to get in the water and try them out. The rivers in Pennsylvania are cold in February, but I was gripping the bottom with complete confidence!

Review: I purchased these for my husband when he kayaks the river in the winter months in MI. He states these are warmer and a lot more comfortable than the shoes he had been wearing. They seem to run small. He wears a size 12 and I purchased the 13 and they are snug. Too bad these aren't made in larger sizes as well.

Review: Great shoe for hard and dangerous shoreline conditions. Thick sole keeps those tender wet feet safe.

Review: Great shoe, but sole collects too much mud. Probably better suited for rocky or sandy use.
