The seat frame was a little wider about half an inch than the original seat frame in my 16 Old Town Penobscot, but I was still able to drill the holes in the proper locations in the new seat frame without difficulty although now, of course, the holes are a little off-center. The natural finish and materials used in the new seat match the original seat quite nicely, and the cane looks to be in perfect shape. Ive only taken the canoe with the newly fastened seat out on the river once yesterday!, and it was as comfy as the original seat, Im pleased with this purchase so far.

Great replacement for my Penobscot 186. Great value. Just bought one, but would work for all three seats. Just line up with old seat, cut the ends and drill the holes for the supports. Does not come with the screws and other stuff.

This is the first time I have EVER given a review. I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due. With that being said I could not had been happier with the product I have recieved. The replacement seats were exactly what the company said they were. Just cut to fit your canoe and drill new holes!! Just that simple. I have had my Old Towne for over 25 years, with the new seats hoping to have it for another 25++++. I checed locally to have them repaired but no one could ever come close to the price of replacing them... Very satisfied....

I purchased both seats for my Old Town Camper canoe. It is 14 years old and has the dark stained seats and thwarts. The replacement seats match well and were quite easy to install. After some research, I left the caning unfinished to prevent premature cracking or brittleness. I highly recommend this company and its products.

The rails and styles are not the same dimension at the original seats. You either have to drill 2 new holes per seat or use the old ones and have the hole of center the rail.

I bought two of the Cane Seats to replace the ones in my 30+ year old canoe. It was cheaper to buy new seats than to have my old ones re-caned. Also, the dowels holding my old seats together were questionable at best. The only thing I did was to apply two more coats of marine varnish to the new seats. The quality of the new seats seems great. All I did was apply two more coats of marine varnish to them to make sure they hold up to the weather. I strongly recommend these seats.

Good seat. First one came damaged, however, Austin Canoe/Kayak was GREAT in replacing it. New one sent quickly, they provided a shipping label and I used their box to send the damaged one back. I used my old seat for measurements, and it installed in 10 minutes, including cutting. I would order from ACK again!!
