I have had my Hobie Quest for
two years and use it both on
saltwater flats and rivers. It
holds plenty of gear when
camping and handles well on
the flats. I do not have a
rudder and have only needed
one on a few occassions. In
general it handles fine
without the rudder.

I have had my Quest for 3 years now and I would not trade it for anything else. I have had other brands that were heavier and color faded badly. My Quest still looks new, paddles easy, very stable in choppy bays and swift rivers. I love it so much I think I will bay a second Hobie Quest.
Best buy for the money.

I have a Hobie Quest, and this kayak is really fast....Its not the most stable boat, but it will cover some major ground....I'm really happy with it....

I'm writing this for my wife, who bought the Quest fisherman at the demo day. She absolutely loves this boat, with one exception - get the rudder! I have a Tarpon 120, which tracks anywhere I point it, but her Quest wants to turn into the wind, and the harder the wind blows, the more it wants to head up. Otherwise, a very good looking boat, stable, comfortable, well thought out cockpit. She'd give it a five if it had a rudder (which it soon will have!)
