This is my second Caper and third Ocean Kayak. I have enjoyed the Caper on ocean waters from Florida to New England over the past ten years. The Caper is ideal for fun on the Ocean, it is stable for touring and rough seas. Best of all it is great for surfing the waves!

I ordered my Caper without a chance to test one out, as they have been sold out around here every season. I've been paddling in sheltered bays and rivers of New England for 20 years. I am SO HAPPY I bought it -- great boat, faster than my previous sit-on-tops, ridiculously stable, comfortable and fun.

Ive had my Caper for about two years now and its been a very dependable and stable kayak for both the lakes and rivers. Its a comfortable kayak with plenty of room for your gear, and tracks well and its speed is sufficient. This kayak is light weight and easy to load and unload by yourself. Only cons would be the tank well is deep, but it isnt wide enough to hold a standard milk crate, and the foot wells pool water and dont drain from paddle drip, but I use a sponge to take care of that.

great kayak for the price very stable and works well in sounds and flat rivers. Its light enough for me to remove and place on top of pick up. Only wish Ocean Kayak made this one in a tandem with the same features. Great kayak

The boat tracks pretty straight which makes it enjoyable to paddle in calm water as well as rougher seas. Some cheap components to this boat though, such as the inside handles, one of which broke off while carrying the boat. This happened the 3rd time I used the boat. Also front hatch takes on a lot of water in rougher seas unless you make the seal extremely tight, which is not easy to do.

The Caper Ocean Kayaks that we purchased from ACK have opened up a whole new world for us here in western Wyoming. We have been out several times on them and have discovered lakes, rivers, and coves that we never would have known about had we not decided to get the kayaks. They have taken us into inlets that are less than 4 inches deep. We were caught in two storms that blew in suddenly, bringing 1-2 foot waves, and the kayaks did very well. The kayaks arrived promptly and in excellent condition. We are thrilled with the kayaks and look forward to lots of great adventures.

Review:

I bought this for my 9 year old daughter, and so far it has proved to be the perfect boat for her. Very stable, but still tracks well and has good speed so she can keep up on long paddles. Plenty of storage in the hatch too....great for our island camping trips. Great service from ACK as always too....Thanks ACK!!!
