I already owned the fiberglass Bandit. Then bought this Carbon
model for my wife because of similar design to the Fiberglass, plus
it's a few ounces lighter.
The paddle has a good catch when running rapids, especially
when the paddle's curved catch provides a strong draw stroke.
Then for those times when we're paddling on flat sections of a river,
we turn the paddle 'backwards' and use it like a bent paddle to gain
additional paddling leverage for standard forward strokes. My
purchase through Austin Kayak was simple, with fast delivery.

Excellent paddle. Stiff but comfortable to paddle. Lots of control.
Both sides of the paddle work well but the cupped side is slightly
stronger. I would like the blade slightly wider and longer. Not the
absolute lightest but still very light and strong. I use it for Florida
flatwater. Fast delivery. Solo canoe.
light, stiff, awesome.
I have the fiberglass bandit, and upgraded to this guy. very nice.
This is in addition to my previous review from Sept 2014, as I
recently bought a second paddle for my wife. That should say
This is an excellent paddle for whitewater.
Great catch, slices nicely on the return strokes, does't seem to flex
when I've braced hard or tried to roll up. The lower corner is
showing some wear after year of use on shallow or rocky rivers and
creeks. I've used it hard, so I have no concerns and would gladly
buy another one when the time comes.

Bought this paddle on a great sale from ACK. I had looked at the
Werner carbon paddles for some time not seeing what all the fuss
was about (my plastic/carbon Aquabound was holding up quite well).
I decided to give this a try and I am VERY happy. The paddle slices
ever so nicely on cross-draws and when feathering the blade.
Looking forward to seeing how well this paddle will hold up on the
rocks...I do think it will wear a bit quicker and needs a little more
care then a AB plastic/carbon or even the Werner fiberglass paddle.
Time will tell!
Paddle is light, stiff, feathers nicely, has a good catch, makes nice
draw strokes. Purchase through Austin Kayak was painless, simple,
and delivery was quick.
