ACK Review: What an awesome cooler. I used my Engel 35 Quart Cooler on the hottest day of the year in Texas. I think it was a 105 degree Texas Summer day, and I was impressed with the Engel’s performance. I had soda cans and bottled water in it for over 24 hours, and when I opened the lid the next day, there was still ice in the cooler, and the drinks were frosty cold. This cooler exceeded all my expectations I highly recommend it.

I live in Florida and have purchased 3 coolers from ACK (Yeti 125 & 75, Engel 35). The Yetis perform extremely well as boat coolers and keep the ice and contents cold for days. Not so the Engel. It is about 75% the cooler that the Yeti is. I would attribute the lesser performance to the lid latches which do not draw the top closed with the same amount of tension as the Yeti. It would appear to be made as well as the Yeti but the top closure system needs to be rengineered. If Engel were to do that, I would consider their products in the future. As it stands now, I would not buy this cooler again.

I own a mowing business in Virginia and was having to buy 2 bags of ice almost every other day to ensure my drinks stayed cold during the work day. With the Engel 35 Qt cooler, I now am needing only a bag and a half of ice a week. It has been really effective at keeping the drinks cold up to this point in the season. I am anxious to see how it does in the really hot part of the Virginia summers. So far, I am very satisfied with its quality, durability, and effectiveness.

This 35qt box is perfect for me. I've used it on a 3 day trip filled with both frozen homemade dinners, juice, yogurt cups, natural peanut butter, jelly, etc and 2-1/2gal cardboard milk cartons filled with water then frozen. I was in and out of the box a couple times a day. By the end of the 3rd day, the last frozen dinner was just beginning to get soft, the cooler was still cold and the ice cartons had barely begun to thaw. The peanut butter was difficult to spread from day one to day three. Emptied the cooler when I got home except for the ice cartons. They were still quite cold and had less than a cup of water in each carton the day after. What a great cooler! It's a bit on the heavy side when empty, but I'll take that because my food stayed cold for the entire trip. This cooler is a keeper!

Excellent cooler. Exactly what you would expect from Engel. This weekend, kept ice from Thursday to Sunday.
