Wilderness System Tarpon 100 ACK Angler Kayak is excellent. I
have used it 4 times now. It is a stable kayak, moves well through
the water and is very comfortable. The longest I have been on the
water is about 4 hours and it is very comfortable. Wish one of the
Railblaza rod holders was placed in the front instead of the rear for
more convenience. Rod holders are fine, just the placement.
Excellent kayak for fishing purposes. Not too heavy to load and
unload by myself.
I've had this kayak for less than a year and have lost count how many
times I've used it. I usually spend 4-5 hours at a time on lakes and
ponds with no discomfort. I was looking for a kayak that tracked well,
comfortable to sit in for long periods of time and light weight to carry.
I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
Bought this kayak after a lot of research. This is a great kayak for all
the features, and especially the most comfortable seat with plenty of
options for back and leg support. Only reason for 3 stars is, I would
caution any bigger person to look for a larger boat, I am 6'2" and
210lbs, I would go for a wider boat as I tipped my first two times in
semi rough water (12 inch wind swells on a lake). I have only used
3 times so far, and will update once I get back into the water after
the winter is over. Maybe its the fact that I am used to a lower
center of gravity in a sit in kayak). Just wanted larger paddlers to be
Great kayak! Tracks smoothly in the water and just perfect for solo
fishing. Austin Kayak does a great job setting up the package and
their customer service is second to none. Highly recommended!!!
I got this kayak mainly for the ease of
transporting. I am 6'1" and 200 lbs. This
kayak is light and carries my weight with
equipment very well. This kayak is fast and
tracks straight to be only 10 foot. The water
has not entered past the scuppers yet and even
if it does, the seat is above the floor so I should
not get wet. Seat is comfortable. I got the
dusk color and it looks very good. I had a
couple of issues and I have to give the
customer service from ACK credit. They
respond immediately. The front orbix hatch
would not close properly. Wilderness Systems
finally sent a replacement hatch. The main
negative I see with this kayak is the orbix
hatches. I always spray my boat out and quite
a bit of water would always enter the hull
through the hatches. I assume if caught out in
a rain storm or if a wave comes over the boat,
water will enter the hull. I have added silicone
to see if that will help with the hatch leaks.
Overall I am pleased with the kayak even with
the hatch issues.
This Kayak comes with so
many amenities! It has
everything you really need
besides an actual rod holder.
It also goes pretty fast without

The Wilderness Systems
Tarpon 100 Angler Kayak put
together by ACK is an
outstanding product in a
variety of ways. First is ACK
outstanding sales and
customer service department.
They were extremely helpful;
patiently answering all of my
questions regarding what type
of angler kayak best suited my
needs. Along with outstanding
service, the set up of the
Tarpon 100 is second to none.
The Slide Trax system easily
allows an angler to set up their
kayak the way that suits their
needs the best. Additionally,
the accessories included in the
ACK angler package are
quality, top end products that
allow you to be more
productive on the water. The
seating system in the Tarpon
100 is easy to adjust while out
on the water which means less
fatigue at the end of a long day
of fishing. The final component
that sets the ACK Tarpon 100
angler kayak apart from any
other rig is the price. You
simply can not find a better
deal on a quality product than
what ACK offers. I spent an
entire year looking in the tri-
state area (IN,MI,OH) for an
angler kayak that would be
high quality, suit my needs,
and not break the bank. ACK is
the only place I found that
could do this.
I have used the kayak several times and find it to
track well, be very stable and easy to enter &
exit. paddles easily & is well set up for fishing.
The flush mounted rod holders could be angled
more toward the side for easier removal. It's a
perfect length for me & fits easily in the bed of
my pick up truck. The quality is great. I'm
extremely pleased with this boat.
perfect for small lakes and
This is my second Tarpon 100
kayak. It is very well kitted
out for angling and was well
protected during transit.
Exactly what I wanted! This replaced one I bought on
sale at a sporting goods store. The quality,
performance and layout of the Tarpon is SO much
better and the ACK service was outstanding.
Love it, great small fishing kayak
