ACK Review: Well the feel free Corona Tandem Kayak is certainly a different type of kayak. The back of the boat has a little wheel on it so you can transport it with just one person pretty easily. The kayak is stable and still paddles efficiently. There is room for 2 adults and a child on board and plenty of storage. I took the boat out solo and didn't have any problems steering or paddling. I was worried that the wheel would affect the tracking of the vessel. It did a little bit but it made loading up the car much easier. It's all a trade.

My friend and I rented the Feel free Corona kayak while I was on vacation in California last week visiting her and her husband. They paddle board and I have done that with her twice now. However, I wanted to try kayaking with 2 of my dogs bc ultimately that's what Id like to do. So, we rented the tandem and each took two of our dogs with us, none of us and the dogs had ever been kayaking before. What an adventure! Lol. I was extremely nervous I was gonna end up dumped into the lake, but to my shocking surprise this did NOT happen! I had two dogs, each 50 lbs, in the kayak with me and both of which would move around quite a bit at times so the kayak moved but never dumped us! I was sooo thankful! I was so impressed that after renting one I told her I really liked that kayak and took note of what it was as I've been doing lots and lots of research. I was gonna get a paddle board until I rented the kayak. She was impressed too and she's now thinking about getting the same kayak bc she loved it for her and the dogs as well. Hers were about 60 lbs total, but at one point had one of my 50 lb dogs in with her two dogs and herself due to my rescue dog starting out with me and being very scared and nervous. So we had to go by ourselves. That being said....all of dogs felt comfortable enough on this kayak over time to enjoy it, even the more nervous ones and I have a tall coonhound that was able to fully lay down in this kayak with a weimararner in front of him leaning up against the seat and I was able to comfortably paddle and steer this kayak without any issues. I was surprised considering I've never paddled a kayak in my life! Now, the start wasn't the prettiest but hey....its a learning curve and within minutes no problem! Maneuverability with this thing is unbelievable considering I was sitting clear in the back with a dog sitting on me half the time trying to paddle over him and the other dog was in the middle. Lol. Smooth in the water and very durable. Lots of storage. I did have quite a bit of water come into the boat bc the drain plugs I realized weren't plugged with those scrupper plugs so wet rear end. Since it was super hot I didn't really care. After much consideration and research I decided today to bit the bullet and buy the Feel free Corona kayak from ACK bc I LOVED it so much!!!! I got the lime green/white/bright blue color and can't wait until it arrives. I also purchased those yellow scrupper plugs as others suggested to keep the water out for future voyages, and read several reviews and decided on upgrading the paddles as the aluminum ones that came with out rental I really did not care for at all. It was heavy and the aluminum can get hot. So, I got a hybrid paddle that has a carbon fiber shaft that telescopes and has posi-lock with a fiberglass reinforced paddle.

Bought the FeelFree Tandem Kayak from Austin Kayak last month, love the kayak and loved the experience I had with ACK! It was so easy to call and get information I wanted, (the sales guy, forget his name, was awesome!), make the order and then received the order within a few days and in time for Mother's Day! Took their recommendations and got the better paddles and am completely happy with them and glad I did! Also got the Feelfree scuppers which were well worth the few extra bucks! Love the kayak, it's a well built tandem kayak that holds me, my wife and our 7 year old daughter! It's a little tippy with all three as my daughter kept wanting to shift her weight around, but luckily we also have two paddleboards. Two adults on the kayak is no problem, three young adults or children are no problem as well. Grammy and our daughter have no problem! Grammy loves it as well! Very stable kayak, love the melon color. One of the cool features of the kayak is that it offers 3 seating spots. That means that if you are kayaking by yourself, you can move your seat to the center where you have more control of the kayak. I would get the upgraded seats, we got the two regular seat, but will probably invest in one of the nicer ones with more padding. Love this kayak, I have used many different brands and I have to say that the FeelFree Tandem is the best one that I have ever used! Completely happy with it! Thanks ACK as whoever took my order, sorry forgot his name, was awesome! It was purchased the week before Mother's Day if you need to look up my order and make sure he is acknowledged for being awesome at helping your clients!

This Kayak is awesome Very well made sturdy, comfortable, easy to use. I large I thought there was no way my husband and I could handle lifting and hauling it but it's not bad since it's a nice size kayak. Don't laugh we have it stored in our apartment

Great kayak! Very sturdy. We had 2 adults and 2 small children on board with no problems. Slightly heavy for 1 person but ok with 2 carrying. My rear end gets wet but if you plug drain holes problem solved.

Im looking hard at this Feel Free Corona. I really like the hull shape, upswept bow, intergrated grab rails, apparent higher looking gunwales. Was hoping ACK would offer these in solid colors though, it seems that on the Feel Free website that this might be a possibility.

We purchased our Corona from ACK in April '10 and absolutely love it! There is ample storage on the kayak and it is easy to maneuver, even in choppy surf. We primarily use it on streams/rivers and small lakes, and we can't get enough of it. Only drawback is the weight, but once you figure out a system to load/unload, it's a piece of cake. I would recommend the Thule Slipstream for transporting as the Corona is a little too thick for the traditional J cradles. Special thanks to ACK who guided me through the outfitting process, they are the best!
