ACK Review:
This River User Guide is very user-friendly to even the beginner map reader. In this guide there is a lot of detailed information for every section of the Neches River. This information will come in handy while floating down the river for certain landmarks, hazards, or entry and exit points along the river. On a recent river trip I personally got to use this guide which helped me tremendously, especially when I got lost and utilized the plug in GPS coordinates to figure out exactly where I was. A simple must have for any fellow river adventurer who wants to be educated on their surroundings.

Very nice nice paddling guide to the
Neches River. Broken into 18
segments that someone might paddle
in a day. Each segment has a color
map, and written details. Also
includes history of the river and
natural history of the plantlife and
wildlife you can expect to encounter
on the trip. To accompany this guide,
I recommend also purchasing
PADDLING THE WILD NECHES, by
Richard Donovan who is also the
father of the author of this guide, Gina
Donovan. I would have prefered this
guide to be sprial bound, and more
water resistant.
