After watching the Steve Fisher Black Book Whitewater DVD I was inspired to spend less time in the shop this year and more time out on the water. My goal was to get a little more radical my next time out and keep that trend going. I needed to upgrade my whitewater gear and by adding the Astral Buoyancy Green Jacket. The PFD is not only really comfortable but it's a top of the line whitewater PFD. The internal mid back band makes all the difference and the tight fit makes me feel like the jacket is a part of my body. I like the added support it provides when I'm in the perfect paddling position attacking a tough stretch of water. I also really like that the black and lime color matched my yak perfectly!

Review:
I really like this jacket. It
fits well and is very
comfortable. I like the front
pocket and knife holder. Very
convenient. The side pockets
are little hard for me to open
but I just twist the jacket
slightly on my torso and I can
get to them fine. I also
purchased Atrals Web Toe strap
which fits great in one of the
pockets. This rescue vest has
a lot of great features and I
highly recommend it.

Review:
Rescue vests are a must for creeking,
and the Greenjacket is in a class of
its own. Not overly bulky and has
enough storage to carry a full pin-kit
on your person. Could use a little
more flotation.
