Great quality, fit my Perception which I didn't think would work because of the slight slant of the boat, but it rocks. Everything I buy from AKC rocks.

The hatch installation went very smoothly - 10 minutes tops! So far it has performed very well, but a word of warning - the bag attached to the hatch IS NOT waterproof. We dumped the kayak in some rapids and the bag had an inch if water in it by the time we were done....keep a sanwich bag inside the hatch bag and all will be well. A good product overall!

Worked like a charm, installed in minutes and actually seals fairly well...of course not fully water tight but closer than any other hatch I have had. And so not expensive!

This did not fit my perception carolina. Just be aware that it will not work with all kayaks. My bulkhead wall would have been exactly where I would have had to put the hatch. Seems easy to install, however (if you don't mind cutting a whole in your kayak)

I give ACK a 5 but this
product gets a 3 from me, so
averaged to a 4. Half the
screws were short and half
were long. The printed
instructions had the wrong
drill bit size listed for the
well nuts. Ended up using
rivets and marine sealant.
Other than that not bad.

Nice and works great.
The only trouble, the black ring (with the 6
holes for the screws) that attaches to the kayak
has creaked at two of the holes.
The foam gasket is not worth the time to ship it.
Much better to use silicone.
Still with the creaks in the ring it works great.
How can you get another ring.
We are shipping you a new ring today. The ring will crack if the surface that it is mounted on is not flat or if the screws are even the least bit over-tightened, so be gentle.

Replaced the rubber push-on
cover on my Future Beach
Spirit 120 perfectly. Cut out
the original tiny bucket, used
aluminum pop-rivets to mount,
used a tube of clear silicone
sealant instead of foam
gasket. Looks factory
original, and I now have easy
access to food & camera.
Excellent quality. And of
course great price & fast
shipping from Austin Kayak!

These things are great! I installed one on my kitchen countertop and use it for a small refuse bin. You can use the produce bags from the grocery store for liners and best of all they are free!

Quick shipping, well packed! I installed 2 of these in the round hatch positions on my Malibu 2 XL, Gaspachi Hatch on central oval hatch position. I caulked them in with a bead of clear silicone adhesive, left the bead that formed when riveted down to dry and slit and peeled it off later. Great place to put things that you don't want rattling about the hull such as: cell phone, wallet, camera, etc. Have to agree with previous post that things such as cell phones and cameras should be in zip lock freezer bags. If I ever decide to put in round Gaspachi hatches, I can just cut these out and still have adequate material to make proper Gaspachi installation.

I just needed to replace the lid, so no install required. I kind of hate screw tops, though. I have to be careful not to shut it too tight or it gets stuck. Fit my Tarpon 120. Nice bag.

Appears well made, plenty of capacity, installed easily. For the price, stainless screws and ny-loc nuts as well as a paper template would be nice. Overall, very satisfied. Beats the heck out of the hard cup it replaced in an Old Town Dirigo.
