I love this collar! Here in Alaska we are able to hike with our dogs loose pretty often, but it never hurts to have a leash on hand when passing other hikers, wildlife, etc. This is the most convenient way to do it!

I had one of these when it was made with the plastic clasp. Ruffwear replaced it when the clasp broke. When the replacement broke the same way I hand-sewed a metal clasp on which worked great til the material gave out. Just to say that this collar is worth having. And now they've upgraded the clasp to metal. Now I'm back to leaving the leash in the car again. If we're someplace where the distractions are such that my dog might break heel or not come, or other hikers might freak out at the sight of a loose dog, I can pop the leash off her collar til we're safe again. Takes a second to put it back on. It's a joy to have this leash back again.

This is an extremely well made product. For situations, like hikes in the woods off leash, or dog parks, it's the perfect solution to the age old question, "who wants to hold the leash?" Highly recommended.

These were the third and fourth Quick Draw leashes we have purchased. *We keep the original in the car as a back-up, now that its velcro is dead. *The second leash had a funky clasp that was a pain to operate. Its velcro died, and we got rid of it immediately because of the clasp. *Glad to see they've switched back to the original release/clasp!! MUCH easier to operate, especially with mittens or gloves on. *The fourth was a gift to family who have added a yellow lab to the mix. Lots of walks and chasing to come! Looking forward to years of fun and frolicking with Cappers Perry (on FB!) Cheers and Happy New Year!
