The mounting plate works
great and is very sturdy. It's
bigger than I anticipated.
However, I'd like to see the
option of getting this with one
of the bigger rod holders (like
the rodmaster or powerlock).
The "baitcaster" model was too
small for my main ocean rod
so I had to order a separate
"rodmaster" which works
great.

Perfect fit for the used DEMO
kayak I just bought. Seems to be
of good quality and I expect to
get many years of use from it.

Nice and simple. Easy to
mount where I want it and I
can quickly adjust the
position so it wont be in the
way during my trip out. I
originally felt that this rod
holder was too large for my
particular spinning rod but it
has performed fine. I do add
a rod leash for an extra
measure of security.

works great on my tarp 120!!
they must have updated the
design, one of the below
reviews says "it needs thumb
tightners". which mine came
with (great bonus). They
should update the description
to include that fact. Great
product 5 stars

Bought a couple of these for my new WS Tarpon 120. They work great and perform as advertised. They don't hold low-profile reels like the Shimano Curado all that well, but nothing is perfect. I like the adjustability and versatility of these things.

Performed as advertised. The allen screws could be replaced with a knob or wing type screw to eliminate the need for at tool on the water. Rather than carry a whole folding allen set I cut one off and cast in in a piece of 1/2 pvc pipe with west systemd resin and put a lanyard on it. Still more of a pain than knobs but haven't found any yet.

This rod holder is the tits. The only reason I
didn't give it a full five rating is because I wish
the screws used to keep it in the track had a knob
that could be tightened and loosened by hand rather
than a screwdriver...for on-the-water adjustments.

Slidetrax are the best - I have rigged everything off my boat using them, including rigging the rear cargo deck as a cockpit for my 10-y-0 daughter, foot-pegs and all. The rod holder base is plenty low-profile to not be obtrusive when you're not using the rod holder. Changing the position of the base on the rail, though, takes a screwdriver, while all other slidetrax fittings take an allen wrench. I would rather see socket-heat cap screws here instead of the phillips-head.
