Plastic end pieces with double
attaching holes are superior
to other types of soft carry
handles. One issue of note is
that the actual length can
vary somewhat from handle to
handle. Not a huge deal, but
the manufacturer might want to
tighten up their quality
control in that regard.

I hope they last longer than the originals
which were only used 4 times before one
strap tore (garage kept since purchased
new). I had to enlarge the holes in the
handle mounts for the rivets during
installation.

These handles are essential for lifting and
getting your kayak up onto your shoulder for
carrying. They are constructed well and look nice.
I found the balance point on my kayak, marked the
holes with a thin marker and then drilled the
holes. I had to make/drill the holes already on
the handles a bit larger, no big deal. I used
stainless steel screws with stainless washers(on
the inside)and lock nuts to secure them that are
NOT included.

Very rugged handles. The same as on my Ocean kayaks. Make sure to use washers on the inside so the rivet does not pull through. You can buy rivets at any hardware store as well as the rivet tool.Stainless steel bolts will work too.

Rivets for mounting can be very hard to find, depending on where you live, be sure to order FLAT HEAD rivets for mounting, as countersunk will not be a satisfactory installation.

I am rigging my OK Scrambler 11 for saltwater bay fishing snook, speckled trout, and snappers(before the BP oil disaster hits us). The OK has the indentations for the handles. I also bought the rubber backed washers for added strength. I did drill holes slightly bigger for the riviets to fit. Very secure and much easier to transport kayak. ACK had the best price in town, customer service is excellent, fast, and efficient.

Mounting holes in handles didn't match up with factory holes on my OK Prowler Big Game (slightly off). Had to enlarge holes in handle mounts to make them fit. Wouldn't recommend doing so. If I had the chance to do over, I'd return handles and find an exact match. Otherwise great product and value.

I bought 2 pairs for my OK Scupper Pro TW and Frenzy. The handles are great and match those that came from the factory on my OK Venus. Installation was a breeze - particularly as OK marks the spots to drill and the handles match up perfectly. If you have an Ocean Kayak, you need these handles and installation is a breeze. If another brand then you just have to measure the kayak to determine the proper mounting location.

Great product which lets me handle my yak alone. (age 68) But, be careful where you place them. Center of balance is also just about center of paddle stroke on several yaks I have tried. Skinned knuckles result if handles are placed too high on the yak. What helps is to wrap handles,tightly, with good electrician's tape. That way if you rap a knuckle you just slide right along the handle.

These should have come on my 'Yak from the factory! They make getting my 'yaks on and off the rack and into the water WAY easier! They were worth every cent.
Think long and hard about placement. On one of my 'Yaks I ended up mounting them in a spot where I constantly hit them with my hands while paddling. I got a nice split knuckle to remind me measure better when I mount them on the second 'Yak.
Also, I had to drill out the holes a bit to get fasteners to fit thru. Not a negative point just a heads up.

Great product. Excellent price. All you need is a rivet gun and some rivets. The tri-grip rivets work better. No self-respecting sit on top kayak should be without them. They make loading and unloading a yak onto your truck or yak rack so much easier. I will probably get another set just for a spare.

Very nice handles and easy to install. I installed two sets on my yak for added ease of transport. All you need is a rivet gun, rivets or screws(8), a drill gun, the right bit and about 15 minutes. I would recommend riveting one side and pulling the other side nice and tight before drilling the other set of holes. With constant use, the fabric will stretch a little bit so it’s a good idea to install them as tight as you can get them. Make sense?
