Excellent kayak. I am a beginner but felt very comfortable
immediately in this solid and stable boat. The seat and foot
adjustments are simple and the manual drop down keel keeps me
on a straight and efficient path. The paddles are a little long but will
work fine since my husband uses the kayak also. It is a little heavier
that I expected but the 43 pounds is awkward when spread out in a
10 foot "package". I think I will get better and stronger. Customer
service was excellent when I had a problem during the delivery. The
kayak had a large 12" diameter dent in the bottom but when I
placed it in the sun for a few days upside down, the memory in the
plastic mold gradually returned to the original shape. Thank you for
confirming my confidence in your company.
I purchased a Necky Rip 10 Storm in 2013... There were other
competitive brands priced less however based on reviews I decided to
spend a little more and buy a Necky. After a year's use in various
types of water I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of the
Kayak. "Pros" The Kayak is well constructed and has maintained its
structure and appearance. I am male 5-9 155 and during my use
the Kayak was well balanced, tracked well, maneuvers well and has
handled every challenge I have put it through. The kayak looks very
good in the water. The kayak has good looking, level, buoyance height
in the water for a person of my size. The boat is of manageable
weight for transporting and lifting onto the roof of a truck. "Cons" The
seat and foot rests are of "OK" quality but could be better for a boat in
this price range. The Kayak cuts through rough water/ waves well..
but perhaps to well... it will take practice with your Kayak to position
the bow when going through rough water so you don't constantly end
up with a lap full of water. I would recommend this Kayak.
Boat tracks to the left with
skeg deployed. Very
responsive with skeg up for a
recreational boat. Easy to get
in and out of and very stable.
The hatch stays dry and the lid
is easy to open and close with
a little practice.
It tracks left fairly hard with
the skeg down, makes
paddling up river a bit of a
chore. At this price it's a
problem I can live with tho.
Great stability not to heavy for a
woman. nice color and hatches
Very happy with this kayak.
It is stable in the water,
quite comfortable, and easy to
maneuver. Due to its light
weight, it makes
loading/unloading a breeze.
Love the way it tracks, turns
real easy. The hatch is easy to
close and the buckle is great to
the added protection. The seat
is very comfortable.
Bought 2 of these packages for
my wife and I, have taken them
on a lake and and down a slow
moving river. I like they feel
and track. Very stable and
easy to move. Great working
with ACK delivery was sweet
and no issues what so ever.
I love my Kayak! I might prefer the opening to the dry cell to have a hatch with a hinge. For easier access.
I think this is a great kayak for the price .I have had it out a few times and love it . The size is nice because its not to big for a small woman to handle and it paddles easily and is very stable I am very happy with this purchase.
My wife and I have had ours out three times so far and under varying wind conditions and we love the Neck Rip! We are very impressed with the speed and glide these kayaks offer for a recreational boat. Also feel very stable and totally in control. It has all the features you would need and I would highly recommend this boat to both beginner or experienced paddler.
This boat seems to be just right for my wife
(5'3")as it is maneuverable and light, but it might
be a bit small for anyone 6' or so. The lightness
of the boat seems to allow the hull to flex easily.
