They do lock, and thats about all that can be said. Extremely basic wafer lock. I installed these on Q-Towers and a bike cam. Works pretty good on the bike, but adds almost nothing to the towers. If there are two cars next to each other, one with the locks and one without, a thief will probably go to the one without. These will NOT prevent any dirtbag from taking your rack. A medium sized flat screwdriver is all that would be needed to lever open the latches on Q-Towers. Im disappointed due to the high cost and low security of these. Only reason for not giving only one star is because, as stated before, a poorly-motivated thief MIGHT pass up a rack with these installed if an easier target is parked nearby.
